The ViscoSoft is a great mattress topper for side sleeping. A firm mattress really won’t give you the pressure relief you need when you are on your side. The ViscoSoft will soften your mattress so that you feel less pressure on your shoulders and hips.
If budget is your main concern, the Dreamfoam mattress topper should work for you. This memory foam mattress topper is soft, comfortable, and a great value.
Do you sleep hot? Well, you don’t want your mattress topper to make you heat up even more. The Layla mattress topper is the most cooling option on this list. It features copper and Thermogel in its construction which should keep you cool while you sleep.

Lol, my dorm mattresses were medium-firm. I like the Saatva as its support makes it multi-functional (sleep, read, tv, web surf, etc).

College is a distant memory but If I were going today I would choose the Visco Soft with good pressure relief for side sleepers and Gel infusion for the hot sleeper that I am

My daughter will be leaving for college and needs a mattress topper. Typically she sleeps on her stomach because of her current gel memory foam topper, but when she lies in my bed she sleeps on her back or side because my topper is softer/plusher. She would prefer a softer/plusher memory foam topper that will allow her to be cradled, plush, cozy in bed, preferably one that isn’t too hot. I was thinking 4” or at least 3” because the dorm beds are horrible, but I’m open to suggestions. Could you please recommend the best toppers that I should consider for twin xl dorm bed. The Casper mattress topper reviewed here is no longer sold by Casper they have a different one now. I ordered it based on this review but its not the same.

I was on a tight budget in college so for most part I had a couch that converted to a bed and had a mattress in it. it was on the softer side. The Dreamfoam was a great value. Do certain toppers work better on different types of beds or is that not a consideration?

I was wondering about which topper to get as I have 2 kids going off to college in 2020. One of my kids sleeps on her side and literally never moves. My other kid sleeps on both his side and back. My son is a big kid 6’2 250. Do you recommend getting him a 3 inch topper and for my daughter which one would you recommend.

Hey Amy! It's great that you're looking into toppers for them both. For your daughter who sleeps on your side, I would look at either a 2" or 3" memory foam topper. I really like the ViscoSoft. For your son, 3" of just memory foam might be too thick for when he is just sleeping on his back. That being said, I would look at the Saatva memory foam topper with graphite. That is great for both back and side.

I like to sleep on my side but I also flip onto my stomach and I like a really squishy bouncy semi responsive mattress. Which would be good for me ?

I would take a look at the Tuft and Needle. It is bouncier than a memory foam topper. Also, if you are okay with latex, I would look at the Avocado.

@@linaaahhhsmile2947 I didn't sleep hot on the Tuft and Needle but between the two, the Avocado sleeps the coolest. Definitely good for hot sleepers.

I've had two spinal surgeries and am a regular side sleeper and also sleep hot. Do you have any recommendations for mattress toppers for college? Budget doesnt matter, I would rather have a good topper.

Mattress Clarity it’s a twin bed wood frame. The mattress provided is somewhat flimsy from my understanding

I would take a look at the Layla which sleeps cool for memory foam. Also, take a look at the Tuft and Needle. The ViscoSoft also felt really cool to us and was great for side sleeping
