At Spital Limmattal, we just put the speechmike on the desk behind the keyboard and just toggle it on/off with a key combination via dragon medical, so all old school radiologists who want to hold something still can use it the old way. Works like a charm!

I enjoyed this video and I have also been looking at various solutions. I agree with you regarding anything that has a cable going into the USB plug that it can become cumbersome and even dare I say "dangerous"! I have been using Dragon Professional voice activated dictation software for over 10 years and have tried numerous microphones. I notice that your Blue Yeti has a speech setting just coming from the front and if you alter this to full surround you will get a good result. My preferred microphone is the FiFine k690 which is much better and like the Yeti has great settings. I have this above my desk on a boom arm so no cables, no charging and top quality sound. This is a relatively inexpensive microphone for about $100 and does the trick perfectly. As I say, I have been looking at this for some time. When I'm travelling, I use a Bluetooth microphone synced up with my laptop and it works perfectly with Dragon Professional. Once you have it mastered, it's an absolute cinch. This type of software allows you to massively increase your productivity, accuracy and deliver exceptional service to clients and colleagues alike. Best wishes

The SpeechMike can be used as a mouse so hold it in the hand that handles the mouse and the other hand on the keyboard. Headset still gives you two hands on the keyboard...

How does the reliability of the dictation on the Phillips headset compare to the wired dictaphone?

Hello, I work in a room with 6 people, a lot of noise, I would like to know if it does good noise cancellation.

If anyone has a Mac, I’m using the beta version of MacOS Sonoma and getting great results with my SpeechMike 3700. Put mic in keyboard mode. I have used Windows too for years but Macs are much better for so many reasons. I use them professionally. You can also connect SpeechMike to an iPad if you use the Apple USB-C digital multiport adapter. Gives superb results in Dragon Anywhere.

Hi Dr Christoph in India I'm using augnito software designed exclusively for radiology vocabulary. The software will be installed in PC and mobile works as mic for dictating reports

Funny thing that your video comes out on the day a discussion in our practice started about new microphones :) How do you start/stop the recording with the headset-type solutions?

I would like to ask a question, if you can help me. i like having the functionality of having key shortcuts in my left hand, but i want to be able to avoid having to hold the mic up to my face countless times a day Can i use a SMP3700 as a remote control for the Speech One? I already have two of these (SMP3700), it would be a redundancy to have to buy the remote control. Thanks

I prefer to use the speechmike with a neck microphone holder, that way I get a noise canceling mic and can listen to music through headphones or speakers. I can't get used to the headsets, they hurt my head after a few hours and the sound is mono and not surround when talking.

Hi Christopher, Ty for all your work 1st of all. My question is: is that safe to use a wireless headset microphone for 10 hrs exposure on a daily basis? (in terms of radiation safety and ? hazards on tissues especially brain tissue). My research says it is questionable and some lab mice studies results are not good in terms of increased risk of brain tumor even at the low frequency and power rate of headset that we use(especially Bluetooth connected). I switched back to the cable one from wireless after my research....I may be wrong, just wonder your opinion on this. Ty in advance

Everyone already has a very good microphone: our phones. Using softwares like WO Mic or AudioRelay you can use your phone as a mic, either via wifi, usb or bluetooth. Works beautifully
