@@PaulHeimlund No clue. I have a number of mics and a number of devices I can record into. The only mic that does it (badly) is the MKE400. Whatever recording device (camera, phone, audio recorder), it is only clean as long as I do not connect the recorder to the mains using any adapter. This video (in Hungarian) has the experiment I sent to Sennheiser. I had two of these mics, one I returned, the other one has the same issue, but I kept it as I kind of like it on top of my camera. @@PrudhviMitra You CAN connect it to the camer's 3.5mm jack of course. But, if the camera is plugged into a charger or a power supply, you are very likely to experience some ground-loop issue, which results in a bad hum in the audio. I have had this issue with a dozen different cameras, phones and audio recorders.

@@ww1www this is certainly a ground issue with the charging cable itself and possibly even the charging brick your using. I have used with power bank, v-mount and direct from the wall with apple charger and anker PD charger with a high quality cable like blue kondor or a thunderbolt cable and have no issue. I see your video and there is most certainly an issue there and i cant believe its on two seperate units for the mic for you that has to mean something else in your setup is at fault there. Id suspect the phone, charger brick or cable being used.

The line symbol - means it’s off, while the line with a curve almost like a V, means it’s on 😉

On the GH6 you need to go to the MENU, chose the first symbol on the left which is a camera, within this symbol you go to the second MICROPHONE symbol and change the setting in Mic Socket to Mic Input (Plug-in Power). Hope this helps!
