@@CorelUser getting closer to fire a shot for more accuracy while the other guy is at a disadvantage because he just ran out of ammo isn't unrealistic. Especially when you know you might miss, and if John manages to reload, he won't. So you need it to hit on the first shot. You also need to hit a small area, because you know that John has those special suits that are all bulletproof, and you're a random goon who doesn't have John Wick level aim.

Wow! Humbled you kick off with Buster's fast draw! That's my hand doubling him with the fast draw and spinning it into the holster. (Both angles from the rear) Tim was a great guy to work with and as you can see was able to learn a lot of gun tricks for the film! But for this particular quick draw the Coen's wanted one smooth draw up and out without hesitation, and without starting with the hand on the gun. So I had to put half the outfit on and step in. Fun fun. Shot full load blanks toward a blue screen they superimposed the other guy on.

As several people here have mentioned, even people with training can consistently miss in real life-or-death situations. The reason is that even training under pressure can't simulate the threat of imminent death. The only way to train for these situations is to be in these situations and that carries a certain risk of mortality.

The irony is that he didn't really diss them. Said the guy needed a shave (which doesn't really insult his basic appearance, just the current state of his facial hair) and to be less surly (which isnt demeaning him personally, just criticizing his bad attitude), and that he needed better drinking buddies (And I mean, come on, look at them. Theys outlaws.). Mild insults at best, especially after what the guy had just called him.
@jadedandbitter

@2be Blunt No, it's that if he drank the whiskey at that point, it would make him a robber, as opposed to simply having shot down men in self defense (which is not immoral). The whiskey was not his- he was attempting to buy some, but now that the bartender is dead, he cannot. Buster is an extremely moral guy- he only kills in self defense when threatened or challenged, doesn't steal, and doesn't even provoke the guy with real "fighting words". And he doesn't take pleasure in killing people, despite his smile. He's just very matter-of-fact about it, which a lot of people confuse for enjoyment. He's an interesting character. He's not a good guy, because he isn't very merciful, but he is moral. If you don't cross him, you'd never have anything to fear.

@@jadedandbitter idk, about self defense. The guy pulled his shirt back showing that he had a weapon, for all we know he may of planned to use it or may have been a scare tactic/bluff. Then the other proceeded to kill everyone in the bar. Not know the true intentions. Then with the bartender, he reached for his rifle and the other guy shot first, so it most definitely was an action of self defense, yet he got shot dead while being innocent to the situation.
@jadedandbitter
@jadedandbitter 4 жыл бұрын
@@joshuacunningham4686 So the first guy to get shot displayed a firearm, put his hand on it, and made a threatening comment, indicating that he intended to draw on him. A police officer will shoot you if you put your hand on a firearm with intent to use it on him. The other guys were only shot when they attempted to draw, and the bartender wasnt involved in the fight, so his actions werent self defense. Being that he only went for it in response to buster being a threat, its clear he intended on using it to assist the other men, and Buster knew it, hence him getting shot as well. Had he not reached for a firearm, he would not have been shot. Same for everybody else there.

Quick draws actually did happen during the Wild West - maybe not quite exactly as in the movies, but there is at least one confirmed moment between the gamblers Hickok and Tutt, who threatened each other from a distance and then fired simultaneously, which ended up killing Tutt. This is very similar to the quick draw duels in wild west movies, and there have most certainly been several other simiular situations like that.

Okay so I have to say this. The new series 1883, is maybe the best Western movie/TV series ever made. It's absolutely gritty and intense and makes you squirm in your seat, and it's almost hard to watch some scenes. But the gun fights in 1883, are so ridiculous they are the WORST gun fights I've ever seen, even worse than a highschool film. The guys fire about 100 rounds at eachother with pistols, up close, and nobody gets hit with a stray bullet. It's SO stupid. I can't believe that Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan (genius) would do such unrealistic shooting.
@slicedpage
@slicedpage 2 жыл бұрын
@@Ritalie you need to take into account that not everyone could afford a gun at that time let alone practise using up expensive bullets. So those that did were not crack shots. The cheaper guns were used to intimidate and tended to explode more often than fire a bullet. When they did have bullets in them and used them in Ernest it was with a hope and a prayer they would hit their intended target or at the very least scare them off. Mix in easy access to cheap alcohol, which was often a substitute for water and it all becomes a shit show. Passersby, people watching through windows, and animals suffered the greatest casualties. You tended to kill your opponent by clubbing them with the gun rather than shooting them with it.
