@thevaxzii Glad I could help! I’ve seen a couple people say their config file is missing… It could be somewhere else in your system. In file explorer, try searching for options.4.cod23 and see if anything comes up from the search.

If you have a Gsync monitor with module, you should be enabling V sync as well in conjunction with Gsync. I recommend using Nvidia control panel forced Vsync on. without the in-game option.

The game does have issues with certain textures atm but if you are experiencing any graphical glitches or certain textures not loading AFTER changing things in the config file, try this: Before closing your game restart shaders pre-loading, close your game, open your config file again and change STLodSkip back to "0" and relaunch the game. @mikeytreees one of the updates they released caused that setting to create graphical issues on certain dirt textures, so I edited that part of the video out. I’d recommend leaving it to the default value.

Aspect ratio should be set to 21:9 to reduce eye fatigue on large panel. I tried it and never look back.

Consoles set in New Zealand were able to play early and if you joined someone’s lobby that was in the game, you could play regardless of region or device!

texture filtering should almost aways be on 16x or 8x. Either high or medium it has almost no performance hit on games and improves image quality on textures.

When I did the DOCP in BIOS, my computer refused to start and booted in safe mode, I had to revert back to default. I guess my CPU didn't like that haha. Great Video!

@boythunderbolt Yeah, that can happen if your memory speed is too fast for your particular cpu/motherboard combo or if it’s just an incompatible kit. What CPU do you have? Did you happen to notice when you turned it on in bios what the memory speed it was trying to run? Also, in your task manager, what is your current memory speed?

Definitely a huge improvement on fps, but I’m just thinking if any game data is being corrupted by doing this? For example, I’m gaining fps but is it creating issues with latency, input lag, packet loss etc? Could you also please let us know how to set the config file back to default? Is deleting config file and then starting the game again going to set it back to how it was before?

@nazmulhuda6794 This shouldn't cause any issues at all with file corruption. Most people I've talked with, this has actually improved/removed input latency and packet loss. The config file will be reset back to the default settings when you delete it. It won't go back to whatever settings you had before, just the default settings for your system.

Always looking for settings guides and this is the first time i heard about the RAM expo/xmp. Intersting that i got an amd motherboard with ddr4 and AMD expo only supports ddr5 which sucks.

Before I really watch this, i somehow have the same fps being 170-200fps in mwz and warzone and 180-300fps which seems to be more 300 or 280fps in multiplayer all on maxed settings with a ryzen 7 5800x and rx7800xt and im confused since I barely did anything and mid-low settings i had worse fps, big confusion i don’t particularly understand graphical settings on pc since i played console up until a year ago almost 2 years and i only ever watched other people

Question about gun camo textures.. they look very pixelated no matter what I change in game settings. I've even gone to high settings on everything and nothing changes. Do you know the setting (either in config file or in game) that effects the gun camos?

@drose9311 Texture Resolution is the main setting that improves pixelation for gun camos. Just make sure to restart your shaders and relaunch the game after you change the setting for it to take effect.

Followed your settings exactly they work great I really appreciate it, but it seems that some maps like derail and wasteland for example have messed up textures. Some things are transparent, clearly don't look how they should etc. Any idea if this is the settings or a bug with the launch of the game?

@jackricotta That depends on which textures its occurring on. These settings generally will make foliage look a bit weird or transparent because the level of detail settings and texture resolution settings. But I have noticed certain parts of some of the maps just won’t render in regardless of the settings used. Once we get a couple launch updates to the game for bug fixes and whatnot, I plan on retesting and spending some more time getting even more in-depth testing done.

I am having this same issue, and I Haven’t been able to find anyone else talking about it until now. I assumed it had something to do with the config file, so it’s weird that reverting the changes didn’t fix it.

Hello good video 👍🏼 A friend and I have graphic glitches in multiplayer and zombies, but the fps are really good with nvidia 3080 after we change the config file. Have a other this problem? Comes a new video with full game version ? Thank you.

@derrantas I haven’t had any graphic glitches from these settings alone, just ones that the game has that they need to fix. But yes, once they get a few launch week patches out, I’ll be retesting and posting another video with updated settings!

HUGE preformance increase compared to MW 2! Im getting an average of 320-340 FPS average with your settings!! So thank you!! Just for anyone who wants to use as a reference/ comparison Im running a i9 12900K OC to 5.3GHz all core w/ Hyperthreading, C-State, EIST, Speed Shift, and E-Cores all off. ROG STRIX 4080 OC in Afterburner (Core Clock +150 mHz, Memory Clock +1450, Power Limit max to 118% , and temp limit to 88) 16 Gb of 3200 CL16 DDR4 RAM XMP enabled and 360hz 1440p 27" ROG STRIX PG27AQN monitor.

It seems a lot of people are struggling with stutters and constant packet bursts. I haven’t been able to find any common denominator between the systems having issues and the ones that aren’t. Hopefully they’ll have an update soon that addresses it.

For anyone curious, I tested the Enable DirectX Raytracing Off vs Ultra in the config file and nothing happens in game. I'm curious why they left that string in the config file, unless they plan to use it in the future.

Hey Bnine I get decent frames and visibility would this also help with packet burst.. I receive it for anywhere from 1-3 minutes of the game when I start matches

@bigb0isp00n5 it depends on why your getting packet bursts. If it’s game performance related, these settings may help, if it’s internet related, these settings won’t change it at all. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to test what’s exactly cause the packet burst issue, but most people are struggling with it. Hopefully they’ll send out an update to help with it. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help

@@brandonninemy packet burst I think is caused by frame drop , cause when I load into games for the first few mins it shows packet burst and I can see my frames jumping from 150 all the way down to like 70 or 80 and idk how to fix the frame drop

i have a cpu bottleneck only on mw3/2/wz2 anyone got a fix for this? its really annoying that i get like 120-70 fps " I5-12400f / rx6700xt " on low / high settings i wanna reach 200fps and i know i cant reach it if i just fix the bottleneck i have 30% cpu bottleneck

@sexy.3316 unfortunately, there’s probably not much more that you can get out of that 12400F since you can’t overclock it (call of duty is EXTREMELY cpu/ram intensive). What memory speed do you have showing in your task manager?

Followed everything, great 120-180fps and that depends on the map but with zombies.. most dirt floors arent loading and I'm seeing myself running under the map and so on. it lets me see through some walls and I have shared the same settings with others and they dont have this bug they haven't done the files. I'm wondering what I can do to fix this or if I can get some help

@charlot445 @nonameeu3044 I haven’t been able to test out that configuration myself, but if it’s the same as MW2 (which it seems like it’s similar) try putting in the number of performance cores that you have, “6”. Let me know if that helps!

You have 14 cores, 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores. You want to try “6” to match the number of performance cores you have.

When i set the "xmp" overlooking to 3200 like it's supposed to be it raises my dram voltage to 1.350 and is red. Is that ok??

@thetwogunkidd3281 1.35v is perfectly fine and is the base voltage for ddr4. Some kits go as high as 1.55v.

I haven’t been able to test that configuration myself, but if it’s like MW2 (which it seems like it is) try putting your number of performance cores. “8” in your case I believe. Let me know if that helps! @mrnesrielnightmare

I’ve been seeing a lot of people (including myself) getting packet burst and random crashes regardless of the settings. Hoping they come out with some updates to address it soon. I’ll be retesting everything in a week or so once they get a couple patches out.

@glennparedis2429 the config file is what saves your in game settings, so if it’s gone, that’s probably why your settings don’t hold. Try searching in file explorer for options.4.cod23 and see if it’s maybe in another location incorrectly.

You need an nvidia 4000 series GPU to have that option, but I personally wouldn’t recommend frame gen for a fast paced first person shooter game like cod.

Went through the settings changing stuff and the first off thing I noticed is that the game is using 13 threads. I have an i7 12th gen, my limit is 12 and 4 of those are e cores where tf is that last core getting used from Also my ram clock speed is 2100, never paid attention to that I have 16gb of ram so I thought I was good, guess I’ll see what I can do about that

@nolyfe4814 you technically have 20 threads, so that’s why it went to “13” but I’d recommend setting it to “8” and see if that shows any improvement. Also make sure you enable XMP in your bios to up your ram speed from 2100 to whatever you paid for. It makes a world of difference and is as simple as going into your bios and just changing a drop down setting.

Did it, though ram speeds only increased to 2600mhz I got good results. Saw a 50fps increase so now it’s sitting at 260. I only have a 165hz monitor though so I can’t use it yet. Gonna have to swap out some parts in the future

@nolyfe4814 Nice! Solid gains! Should help a lot with 1% lows as well by having less stutters/frame drops! That’s really strange to have such low speed with newer hardware like that. Is that older ram from a previous build? I’d try to find a part number on the ram sticks themselves and see if the rated speed is actually that low.

@@brandonnine 🤔 naw I mean I had a pre build but I’ve been swapping out parts over the past year. The only part I didn’t replace was the ssd. The ram, mother board, cpu, and case came from micro center. I got the ram free cause I bought a bundle. It’s a the g skill rip jaws. Bought a 4070 and psu last month, also some fans.

@nolyfe4814 Yeah, I highly doubt they’d give you 2600mhz ram even if it was for free. I think it’d be worth double checking the part number from the invoice or on the ram sticks themselves and see what they are supposed to be. Usually 3200mhz is the standard for those ram bundles.
