My parents used to hide my presents, gave my brother all his, got me wicked sad, then gave me my presents thinking I would be even happier because I though I hadn't gotten anything. We talk maybe once a year now.

We put the kid friendly ornaments at the bottom of the tree. It's pet and child friendly. Two generations, 6 children, no problems.

That's actually a really good idea. Just use the boxes the decorations are stored in anyways. And if you turn them upside down (and are a smaller people) you can use them as seats too. Definitely saving this one.

That's what I did when we had a puppy many many years ago! Teach them not to touch the fake toys and eventually she knew and I could put real toys under!

When they're little, got decorations that won't hurt them and let them have at the tree!!! You can have the perfectly decorated tree when they're older. (What they're showing you here just give them something to climb on top of to be able to play higher in the tree.)

We had a metal rack in our garage for years that had a bunch of storage totes on it year-round. What our boys didn’t know is that two of them that were stacked up at the top always remained empty until we began shopping and we used them for hiding Christmas gifts…

@@Person.62 so you don't educate your kid how to behave around the stuff at home and/or leave them alone without supervision at an age where accidents can happen? We were 8 children at home and one sentence from my father *don't touch that, it's not safe* (and and explanation why) and a certain look and every child, even the toddlers, understood. It's sounds for me like a little bit of *I don't want to speak and educate my children about stuff, like this is a tree and if you pull on the branches it can fall down ect... , so you choose the easy way.* Sorry, but that's how it looks to me. And what is you're explanation, when the child ask on Christmas morning * what is in that big box* or *or is that big present for me* (hopefully eyes) or do you remove it without and explanation? (I think that's even worse. Children understand more than you know)
