It was on purpose. Rosewater straight up said that the decision was made because it was a good palette cleanser after the Bolas arc and so they intentionally did it again

I agree with Prof for his choices, but the major point that he might bring up later is the enchanted tales. Not even arguable that this list is solid. Rhystic Study, Necropotence, doubling season! Even the UNCOMMONS are fire! And Merlin's beard, they downshifted grasp of fate to uncommon!!! Commander masters done right I say!

These cards all look pretty great for several of my decks; I'm also hyped for the "Throne of Eldraine" card for my monoblue decks. But its also great in any other monocolored deck that needs card draw!

As a side note for Helix Mattress - It takes ~90-days or so to "break in" a bed. They get better the longer you sleep in them.

Another benefit for moonshaker cavalry: dont forget that white has a bunch of flicker effects to trigger the etb over and over, something craterhoof doesnt have

Behemoth is often tutored and cheated with things like natural order or tooth and nail... So I don't think it really is as good, not because of what is printed on a card, but cause of the context of the format(not to mention 8 mana is still easier to get in green)

The turtle seems so niche, and sure, the land creatures part may be, but the discount is really powerful. So many land effects are balanced on paying extra, which turtle breaks

Chikorita is amazing, but I dislike Meganium, and Bayleef's cigars... I really like Decadent Dragon and Mosswood Dreadknight in the main set, and Loamcrafter Faun, Malevolent Witchkite, and Korvold Gleeful Glutton. Also finally a Faerie precon!! What if Ixalan has a Merfolk and/or Dinosaur precon!?

What makes Moonshaker Calvalry so much stronger than Craterhoof is the fact that white is currently the top tokens go wide color and the second best flicker color enabling multiple ETB effects from Moonshaker. Absolutely a massive card! And the mana cost hopefully makes it less interesting for cEDH so hopefully the price tag won't increase too drastically.

White kind of had a Craterhoof in Righteous Valkyrie + Nykthos Paragon. Gain life = Paragon's toughness (and similar for any other creatures that come into play), then once per turn, get +1/+1 counters = the life you gained. I had this just end a Commander game, what with 6 +1/+1 counters going on everything I had. No evasion, but the beef sticks around :D

i think Moonshaker would be even better than Craterhoof in my Omnath/Preston Deck, where i flicker the Board and get an additional Board with Triggers, but now my Illusions are X+1 Flyer until the Turn of my Opponent ends.

A couple of those cards make me really want to draft this and hope to get some good cards. It would be almost impossible to cast the Calvary in a draft environment but for sure the first card I'll draft will be either green or white so I can have justification for pulling it for my collection.

Mosswood Dreadknight is a sneaky good card in EDH. Repeatable card draw stapled to either a blocker or sacrifice fodder is really good, especially in green and black

It's fine, but you have to spend a total of 4 mana every time you wanna repeat it... black has plenty of "draw cards when things die" effects already. If the creature had deathtouch there'd be much more reason to sink the mana into it every turn.

Don't forget how much Blossoming Tortoise helps the filter lands! Instead of paying one generic to tal for two colored mana, you can just tap for two mana! It's strictly better than any other land that taps for two mana!

I'm kind of surprised you didn't honorable mention Collectors Vault! While it isn't super powerful, it is both a colorless, repeatable, looter combined with a treasure generator on a single card! And being Colorless, it can go in literally any deck! There are so many decks that would like this card that it could become a staple itself =D

I'd put the Cauldron above the Cavalry just for being colorless. Cavalry rules but you have to be monoW or pretty close to it to reliably cast it, whereas all 5 colors can benefit from the Cauldron.

tbh storm herd works WONDERS with anything from token doublers to priests... Also if you manage to use something like Sphere of Safety in that white enchantment deck to keep your life total high, it gets even stronger It's no "Alesha & Soul-of-Eternity" combo, but it's a nice card if you don't rely on it too hard.
