The harder the job, the better the jokes have to be, if you don't want to break, that's why nurses, pathologists, anästhesists, policemen etc. have a lot of humor in general.

When people are used to letting people believe they are a nurse, and they come face to face with someone who has the courage to probe, they stutter and putt putt around the answers and it is infuriating. It’s misleading and they know it’s a lie and that it is deceptive and they feel caught and uncomfortable and that’s why they get all flustered and don’t know how to answer the question. She should have just said like a secretary when she noticed he was looking for clarity. She knows what he was after. I almost felt bad for her.

Hey Rob, I was listening to you on Drybar for the first time. I was impressed with how funny you were and excited that I might have found the rare gem of a comedian that’s really funny and doesn’t use profanity, but then I heard some profanity on some different stages. If I could encourage you to keep up the clean language in your act, we would watch you over and over and over! As a family, we enjoy the likes of Gaffigan, Regan, and Micheal Jr. because we can trust them to be safe to listen to as a family. Keep up the great comedy. Your energy remind me of the positive vibes of the late Robin Williams. God bless and keep it up man!

My favourite story as a nurse was the time I treated a farmer who had tried to shoot a rat with a shot gun. Unfortunately the rat was next to skip and he caught the ricochet. I picked 13 pellets out of him which took a few hours. One of the Dr's then did a join the dots on the full body xray and made it look like a giant Penis. It was a funny day!! One of many!!!

If you're ever fortunate enough to sit around a group of surgeons (like in O.R. changing lounge when rooms are backed up w/operations going over time) that start sharing stories about foreign-body removals, not only is it LMAO bizarro, but I continue to be amazed by the huge % of patients that are too embarrassed to give even their surgeon any clue about the back-story! So, these surgeons, knowing only that something's wrong on the Xrays that don't quite show exactly what's blocking up the works, find the "surprise" mid-operation ... and then the staff present starts guessing (sometimes the funniest parts of the story), knowing they'll have to wait for the patient in post-op recovery to wake up enough to provide at least a plausible excuse. So, a patient with a bowel obstruction is in the O.R. when the surgeon discovers that what was presumed from the Xray to be backed up feces was in fact thick grease. Full colon of thick grease. ..... Turns out that the male patient was a mechanic who'd started lusting after the grease gun nozzle. He did not, however, keep control of the "on switch". Apparently, by the time he got a grip on the situation, he hadn't ejaculated ... but the grease gun had! In this story, the lengths to which the patient had gone to avoid needing to see the doctor were (for folks other than the patient) the funniest parts. Now, let your imaginations run wild. I wonder how similar situations are ever shared within families(?), among seniors(?), in confessionals(?), to this guy's boss when he asks how the shops supply of grease ran so low when there were no records of customer vehicles needing any(?), Etc.. How many security cameras these days are catching folks unaware as they put objects in parts of their bodies where they shouldn't be(?), how many objects get stuck there(?), do the video tapes get published &/or sold &/or used for blackmail &/or kept "for personal use"/entertainment/ "training purposes(?), Etc.? ... The mind wanders 🤭

I think the removal of the penis was the best story with the combination lock a close 2nd. I don't know how an orthopedic surgeon became a urologist but it seems to have happened. BTW I was a psychiatric RN for 13 years. Got loads of stories
