@Bluesomic Idk what you said lol. I dont see what's wrong with being aggressive on the closing laps, it's what it's always been like. Even if they weren't as aggressive there will always be wreck. I'm not a fan of Newman but I'm really glad he survived and his wife and kids didn't lose him. I cant imagine what its like to see a loved one wreck like this having no clue whether or not they're ok. Really shows how much "safer" the cars are now than they were 20yrs ago. Idk how much more can be done to improve the safety without negatively affecting the racing anymore than it currently is.

I remember only watching the finish between Denny and Ryan, I never noticed Newman fly, it was only when it cut to Newman when I realized that he was destroyed, it was so horrible that I vividly remember my very words when I saw it: "Oh my God!"

It wasn’t just a concerning time for NASCAR fans when Newman wrecked like that. It was for the drivers and the teams. It was heartbreaking seeing that crash. Goosebumps when I see it. When I got the chance to meet him a month or so back and see him race, it was amazing seeing him back.

Agreed. Such a hard pair of hits with the wall and the 32. My virtual race league was actually supposed to race immediately after the 500 but we delayed til the next day waiting to hear about Ryan
