This is a dream car

I had a UR Quattro in the 1980's tuned up to about nearly 270 bhp running boost at 25 psi and water methenol injection. Magic car. Handling magic but did get very spectacular at the limit!!! Went totally sideways and you needed to be quick to catch. Changed my brakes to same as rally cars with a conventional servo etc as per Audi 80 coupe!!! cost a visit to local scrap yard and about 1/2 hour fitting!!! Cost £25!!!! Instead of the potential £2,000 to fit the UR Quattro system!!!!! Advise from Audi Sport over the phone!!!!

I think Audi rally cars is all I remember from my childhood. It’s probably why I idolize them. I own an A4 now, love it. Summer tires work fine on snow and ice in -40.

These are an *absolute treat* to drive as long as you have at least *somewhat* of a feeling for that unique weight-transfer that goes on with each sterring input. The entire powertrain system feels incredibly good and lets you get away with quite A LOT that other cars, even similar ones with AWD, would give you grief for. BY NO MEANS are these 'easy' to drive or handle in any way, shape or form, but the difficulty only adds to the satisfaction you feel when you actually do manage to smoothly fling it around a nice corner, that amazing engine sound being the methaphorical cherry on top. I felt that, braking, however sharp or harsh, can send the rear end around rather easily. All that weight shifting to the front with the leftover inertia of the rear wheel power still pushing some of the weight, it's something to remember when approaching hairpins from longer straights. Of course, you can also use that to your advantage if you've got the know-how and feel for it. (I did not) Definitely a must try if you are ever in the position or have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of these
