I really wish these routines were shot with crane cameras so you can really appreciate the level of creativity these guys put into them. There were a lot of lines that can't be appreciated with just a couple of camera angles.

Yes, they been doing routines like stage shows from the early 90s & probably before... Strom theatre performances when he was active bboy, changed alot in the game.

None of these routines are as hype and good as the older throwback routines. Very Creative but nothing explosive like back in the days

Routines are just written sets. When someone does a written in a solo competition its seen as bad thing, but when groups do a written routine its seen as a good thing?

Yes, creativity and ingenuity is a good thing. The routine is not the entire set, just part of it. It's literally just a team move but the thing is there are only so many team moves you can do so they need to be longer in order to be different/original. Again, it's usually not the entire set but if it is, it definitely should be penalized by the judges.

When you compare dance to speech, freestyle vs routines are like having a conversation vs poetry. Not the same thing, but both have their time and place. Routines are definitely one of the things we would not want to miss in crew battles. 🥰🙏
