Love seeing a man teaching his children to love and respect reptiles. My father introduced me to nature and taught me about conservation. I've been handling reptiles since I was 2 years old, and I began herping for copperheads, cottonmouths, and everything "creepy-crawly" at the age of three. Now I have a huge (and growing) family of reptiles, amphibians, and inverts, and I absolutely love it.

I’ve also been handling reptiles and “creepy-crawlies” since I was able to walk. I’ve always been fascinated by the little creatures. One time when I was 4 one of my dads tarantulas got out of its enclosure and was missing for about a week and I found it and picked it up and brought it to him. It was bigger than my hand but I was not afraid and I’m still not afraid of them. I have a few snakes mostly small but I do have a large one named tails, she is a red tailed boa. My smallest is a Kenyan sand boa. She’s my baby I love her. Her name is sandy

@@izzy-ww2pf nice! Your story brought a smile to my face. I'm a couple shy of 20 tarantulas, well over 50 animals in total (no way to count the roaches, isopods, worms, larvae, or flies in my insect colonies lol). My largest currently are my retic (6-7 feet at a year old) and tegu (over 4.5 ft and still growing). I can't wait to add a green anaconda, Asian water monitor, and blackthroats. I'll be waiting until they have enclosures with more than adequate space, lighting, and water filtration with drainage before I add them to the family, however.

@@izzy-ww2pf I have a lavender albino tiger, my next addition will either be a GC or cow. I love mantises, but I hate their short lifespans. I'd planned on adding orchids after my ghosts, but it is painful to lose something so soon. Same with jumping spiders, I absolutely adore them, but they are so short lived. Hognoses are awesome 😊 I'm planning on doing hogs for my first in-depth/planned breeding experience. I love all of my babies equally, but my tegu Pubba is probably my favorite thing in the universe. He loves snuggling me, he will come to my bed all on his own and climb up. He likes to rest his face against mine and for me to put my arm around him. He will readjust himself if I move and his face is no longer touching mine. He is the sweetest baby.

@@IrieRogue yeah I hate their short lifespans, butterflies also have awfully short lifespans but I love them. I love jumping spiders too their little faces are sooo cute and they’re so intelligent. I had a monarch butterfly for about a week that flew into a moving car and was injured, it was already at the end of its lifespan but if I didn’t get it out of the road and take care of it it would’ve died that day in the road. It couldn’t fly for a day or so after I found it so I let it sit on my finger while I walked it around my house and outside. Once it was able to fly it never tried to leave me which really surprised me. I thought I lost it once because it flew off me but I found it on my butt like 10 minutes later 😂

I know this comment is old, but what you said is not true. (Most) snakes in general do not want large enclosures. They want small spaces where they can feel tight and snug, as they would be in the wild. Open spaces create anxiety and a sense of danger for them. Blood pythons especially do not move around a lot, they are basically long paper weights. My 7 foot girl is in a 48x48x12. Even if I put her in a larger enclosure, she would only ever occupy a small part of it. Think of their enclosure more as a "den" and less as a home (in a people sense). I do let her outside to enjoy the outdoors, but she always just wants to go back into her little hole. That's where she feels most secure.

I love Zee's attitude towards her snakes. She truly does love them. But Please Please Please get them some better rack system for housing. Some of the tubs are far to small for the snakes growing. I fully support rack system for big collections but they are watching too small. I always tell people if your snake and fully extended in its housing it has enough space.

Why do these reptile/snake collectors always keep their snakes in those tiny tubs that they can't even move in. Seems like she only lets the bigger two out, as she didn't mention letting out the others. Mentioned the big😞 snakes being so docile that they wouldnt bite her,yet she gets bit everyday by the ones in the tiny tubs...hmm i wonder why? Cant stand animal collectors unless they have proper handling time, proper tanks, and if too many animals, then a staff to help. Its sad to see those poor snzkes in a tub big enough flt just the water bowl and the curled up snake that cant move or explore... Prob breeding snakes in the bins :(

I’ve had many snakes in my life, at one point I had 16 at a time. Many were small but I had a few large pythons and I had to get all of them enclosures they would feel comfortable with an be able to roam. I had many fish tanks in various sizes me and my family had fixed to accommodate them. It is very worrisome how tiny a lot of the tubs/bins are for some of her ball pythons and other medium length snakes. It’s far too small for those snakes and they deserve a better home. Such as, branches to climb on to keep them active. Or a rock to rest on. Even a small place to hide in or under. A heat lamp. She’s not giving them the best life and it’s very sad and frustrating to see.

@@sorexlozen8968 sadly it's a common thing with snake collectors. ..ive seen large ball pythons living in a tub like that at our local reptile center and many more situations are the same over on the reptile side of youtube. Its so sad..in the wild they dont stay curled in a ball 24 hours a day thats why they have such strong muscles to move around with no legs. Just gross..im glad you and your family recognize animals need space and stimulation no matter what kind it is.
