I stand by my opinion that Butcher using Soldier Boy to take out Homelander was the right call, despite what the writers claim. They had access to Soldier Boy’s weakness whereas Homelander had none. Let him kill Homelander, which would stop him from basically causing the apocalypse and likely damage Vought beyond repair considering Edgar was ousted. After, and only after, take him out with the nerve gas, and then MM can get the vengeance he rightfully deserves. Since when did the show become against pragmatism? I mean, they shoved a bomb up a guy’s ass in season 1 for Pete’s sake! Even children’s shows like Teen Titans Season 4 understood that you sometimes had to team up with lesser evil to defeat a greater evil. Whatever. I just hope the show makes more sense in Season 4.

@@ni.rojroca4656 Well, yeah probably. As the kid gets older, he’ll get stronger and eventually be able to be on an even playing field with Homelander. But Soldier Boy is a whole different animal with his radioactive blast that would have been able to render Homelander as weak as a normal human and easy pickings for any one of his enemies. Which is why it was so irritating to me that most of the titular team did not recognize nor consider that using Soldier Boy’s special ability was the only option they had to put down Homelander like a rabid dog before he goes full-on genocidal.
