You could make the argument that Ramsdale is a better shot stopper. I think the stats do reveal that his save percentage of big chances is actually higher. But Raya's main plus point for me is the way he is able to cling onto shots and crosses that you don't expect him to, which disappoints the opposition and relieves pressure off his teammates.

I think there is alot in the last sentences you mentioned because Even though Ramsdale seams more of a showstopper than Raya, the dynamic could also Include that Ramsdale more often has to put himself in positions where he has to make spectacular saves. I don't have Any statistics but logically a keeper that is better controlled will breed better confidence with their backline hence having to make less saves.

I disagree, for every 10 saves he made a mistake. Of the 24 EPL goals against him 7 of them were scored off of his mistakes. That a whopping 29% which is nowhere near good enough at this level and I will argue that its not good enough for the school yard either. Yes he won the golden glove but that was more down to our high press and great back line with 3 of the best players at their positions in Saliba Gabriel and White. I can not remember an Arsenal keeper having less to do since I started supporting Arsenal in 1976. His average saves pergame is barely over 1. He made at least 10 mistakes in the EPL this season on less tham 70 shots. 2 of these were in games we should have won against Tottnumb and chelsea , instead of winning them we drew them and dropped 4 points which cost us the title. The stats don't lie.

Raya is much better than ramsdale end of story. Ball distribution. Confidence. Handling. Dealing with crosses. Organizing defence.

In terms of dealing with crosses, Raya is far more comfortable than Ramsdale. But I don’t really agree with most people’s opinion that his ball distribution is better. In fact, I think Ramsdale’s is better. As a shotstopper, Ramsdale is clear. Plus, he has a higher ceiling. I still prefer Ramsdale over Raya.

@datsj2152 I agree but his cross handling in traffic is not great he spilled 3 balls this season that found found their way into the back of the goal. The most damaging of these was the one against Tottnumb where he spilled the ball back into the center of the box, not out behind the goal line for a Spurs corner. That mistakes cost us a win, 2 points and the title. Unlike the Ioses to Villa, Fuham, Newcastle, and Westham where we were not going to win those matches the first game agaist Tottnumb was 1 where we had done enough to bar his mistake.

Delusional. He has the positioning of a 10 year old - you included the save Vs spurs to back and watch the goal and his positioning for both.Shot stopping is below average. Distribution is his only positive.

@@4rillymanilly it's the defence not the keeper. If you want to check stats, check how many shots Raya has actually faced compared to recent seasons. The defence is insane, the keeper is below average.
