Here is a collection of the best Houston area catches I've gotten over the past few months. I've visited twice, and recorded some pretty sweet rigs. These catches are from Montgomery County, Galveston, and the Houston Fire Department. Thanks for checking out my video.

its very low mileage too, a Type 3 Transport brushtruck from california under the USFS. incredible truck.

Texas takes "Don't fix what isn't broken" Seriously. In fact many departments do, mine keeps a lot of old trucks as reserves but they are still rolling strong!

Howdy from Colorado. Good captures, really enjoyable. Be cool to capture more dispatch audio as they roll out when u can. Keep up the work & thanks. Heat has gotta be brutal down there!

What type of siren is Rescue Engine 01 using?

HFD Engine 1 is using a Whelan 295 siren I believe. Or a Epsilon, I'm not sure.

Why keep back specifically 343 feet? Where does that come from?

I believe 343 is significant because that is the number of firefighters that died on 9/11. Some trucks just say 300 ft

Can anyone from the Houston area tell me the difference between their ambulance and their medic unit?

Generally Medic units are staffed with two paramedics. Ambulances are staffed by EMTs.

Most places; Basic Life Support (BLS)= EMT’s Advanced Life Support (ALS)= Paramedics

It’s kind of stupid that the FD had to use red and blue lights, because lots of people don’t care about the red and white ones, they only care about red and blue, or just blue because it looks like the cops.
