These are some of my favorite TikToks on Gremlincore and Cottagecore TikTok! I’m using Gremlincore instead of Goblincore, because Goblincore has anti-Semitic associations, and on this channel we choose to love and support instead of hurt 🥰 (Life is not always of love and light, but we don’t need to help it along in a negative way)

So I'm confused, what's the difference between gremlincore, and goblincore? Edit: nvm I just read the description. I also looked into it a bit for those who are also a little curious as to why some people still call it Gremlincore instead. Heres what I found. "Goblincore has been criticized as anti-Semitic because goblins, especially when depicted as ugly, thieving creatures obsessed with shiny things, are frequently used as an anti-Semitic caricature, although this was not the intention when naming this aesthetic." Hope this helped anyone understand better!

also to add, DONT HATE, TEACH. if someone still calls it goblin core, tell them why it would be better to use gremlin core. if a Jewish person wants to re-appropriate it and use goblin core, that's okay!

I'm not changing, enough concessions are made..im a GOBLIN not a gremlin, or a hobbit or a brownie or gnome. Goblins are foot soldier fey, rustic and helpful when they have a hob (the house hearth). I'm sorry some people have problems with it but I get offend myself when I'm expected to just take something ive found necause it was used at one time as a caricatures

im an "adapting-goblin". i have oceans, rivers, lakes, forrests, cities, and swamps where i live so i have many different clothing styles and trinkets! i talk to faes, fairys, witches, wizards, warlocks, sirens, and search for cryptids for fun and collect shells, antiques, nails and bolts, plants, and spanish moss- the only "moss" that grows in florida! what type of goblin is everyone else?

the desert goblin that got most of his goblin things from Walmart and rock shops cuz yes. oh, and whose dad has a thriving veggie garden. I'm also a bit of a witch, but I'm starting with small spells first, like a little wish spell and maybe some spell jars once I get the materials :3

Cottagecore extra tip for guys I would think of hobbits from LOTR, specifically Samwise Gamgee. He rather be in his garden at home, but he will fight for their friends in dangerous places and be there for them. Also while he was tempted by the ring (in the books it's mentioned), his wants were small to Sauron so he wasnt as affected. His wants were: quiet life, a house, a garden, a wife and kids. Even if you don't want the wife and or kids, a house, garden, and a quiet life is cottagecore in a nutshell.

@@YourWitchyCousinTikTokComps I do collect the shinies, but I have to limit how many I pick up. Yes I like frogs. Perhaps not go feral but I like going to the forest and have entertained the thought of living in a castle-like house next to the woods. Yes sometimes. Cloudy rainy days are superior.

For more masculine cottage core I look at hobbits..neutral shirt and earth tone trousers..vests most definitely.. Flat caps amd leather shoes/bare feet oh and haversack for findings

Get a jar, put a layer of rocks on the bottom, put a layer of dirt on top of the rocks, cover with some moss, spray the moss to make sure it’s moist, and put on the lid to the jar! There are more detailed instructions elsewhere, but that’s the general idea!

I dunno, I'm not Jewish or anything, but if goblins have been used as an antisemitic caricature in the past, wouldn't it be better to use the positivity of the Goblincore aesthetic as a way of basically reclaiming Goblins from the antisemites. I mean we've already lost everything from sunwheels to runes to the racists, let's not lose goblins too.
