Jon only had a few minutes of screen time as shown here, but made such a big impact. His little hand gestures and fake-caring expressions as Gabriel are hilarious. Can wait to see him in S2 in a few hourrrrrrrrs!

In the old testament Gabriel is considered a devil. Not too far fetched as all the "el"s are part of the elohim, cast down due to their mingling with the daughters of men, producing giants. Gabriel is notarius for producing children. Good for Neil Gaiman for getting it correctly.

For season 2 yes. Season 1 had other Americans. Warlock, his adoptive parents, because of the whole switch thing. War, famine, Anathema and God. Even the actor who plays Sergeant Shadwell is American though in his case his character isn’t. Edit: if you count God’s brief appearance in season 2 maybe not.
