'Favorite 3D Zelda,' technically. And that was prior to BotW. And also prior to replaying it. As a game that's about doing side missions (which they did almost none of) and using the *very* short main story dungeons as speed bumps to encourage you to play more of the actual game, it truly was Arin-poison.

The fact that they're like.. 98% through it, as far as the "bare minimum" is concerned. He just needs to finish that mini-boss, beat the temple boss and he could go to the final boss, like, minutes later. He'd probably be done in less than an hour. Stopping completely, after having made it _that_ far, just feels like a huge waste.

@@Brad.M. I was always under the opinion that he hates the first 3D Zeldas for the same reason I do. They just really didn't age well, when compared to the rest of Nintendo's huge games anyway. Even more so if you have no nostalgia for them and start them with a blank slate

@@nordikkai7185 I can agree that they have not aged well. The graphics are bad compared to today's standards obviously. And some mechanics are...troublesome to say the least. But despite that, they were such huge influences on the lives of Zelda fans and gamers and even Nintendo themselves, for better or for worse. Ocarina of Time was the first 3D Zelda, Majora's Mask went through development hell, and Wind Waker was hated only because the original GameCube showcase was realistic.

But being a person that didn't grow up with Nintendo until a bit later in life, I can see why some (including myself) really don't find the two games all that enjoyable. I feel like Arin recognizes that they are important to gaming history, but can't stand that people always claim they are flawless while that's not the case.

@@himeoftwili Arin intentionally sabotages himself in games he doesn't like. He puts in zero effort and pays attention to nothing, just making himself MORE frustrated when things don't work out the way he wants and makes him angrier at the game. He does well in Bloodborne because he likes it.

I love this. You get to hear the moments they were actually having fun and not interupted by long strings of "WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO" My only suggestion would be that if you want it to feel like "basically watching the playthrough", it would be helpful to include major cutscenes to act as checkpoints for progress, even if it's a sped up cutscene with silly music

I still... like in one of the last few episodes of MM they recorded Arin said that the stuff he liked was like the side quest bombers notebook type stuff. And he stopped playing because he had like 7 total hearts at the fourth/final dungeon and kept dying. So why didn't he just do the stuff he said he liked about the game, because the reward for doing that stuff is usually heart pieces and/or other things that will make you stronger and more capable of dealing with threats. Hopefully if they are uploading this video they will be going back to finish majoras mask eventually.

@@Iluvpie6 botw has more in common with a ubisoft sandbox than it does any other legend of zelda game. For that reason alone I really don't care for it too much.

It will be so much better for my sanity and Arin's that they never finish this series, unless he learns to make it obvious he's stating opinions and not claiming his opinions are facts. I mean, he's not deliberately saying, "My opinions are facts," but when he says stuff like, "No, no, this game is amazing. It is I who am wrong," he makes it sound like an opinion can be right or wrong, when it really cannot (unless it's bigoted, which is always wrong, but that's not the point here). It's perfectly fine to hate a game, but maybe throw in something like "I feel" or "to me" or "in my opinion." It's not that hard. I do it all the time, when I don't want people to attack me for considering Breath of the Wild or Monster Hunter World my least favorites of their respective franchises.

In his defense, that phone-camera moment, during which he confesses that he hates MM, OoT, and SS, he states that it's just his opinion, and that it's okay for everybody else to have a different opinion. I just wish he would say stuff like that more often.

Is there really a "Best of" for their Majora's Mask playthrough? All I remember was Arin yelling about how stupid the game was while skipping every dialogue and instruction box that told him where to go and how to do things.

i was just getting into game grumps when they started this playthrough. i grew up watching Aarons animations on newgrounds, back when he vehemently hated youtube. The awesome series and GG are all in all very nostalgic for me. It might just be that this is one of my favorite childhood games, but Aarons commentary and overall assessment of MM was and is soul crushing. Its been hard to watch GG since then. Aaron is always so cynical and facetious.

Lol, I try not to give Arin a hard time when he can't figure things out but when he spent SO much time on Dampe and didn't realize he needed to target him to get him to follow I was screaming at my screen TARGET HIM JESUS! lol

When Arin put the bomb right next to the piranha tank and blew himself up twice whilst also miraculously killing all of the piranhas inside of the tank, I couldn't fucking breathe.
