The team in the upper bracket only has to win one bo7 when the team from the lower bracket has to win 2 series

And if the team from the lower bracket wins a series it's considered a “bracket reset” and the upper bracket team goes to the lowers

think of it like this: every team has 2 lives. if one life is lost they move to the lower bracket. however there will always be one team in the grand finals that didn’t lose a life yet so they can use one life in the grand finals for a bracket reset
