tbh the fakeclaiming one (“things that make systems sus” or whatever) isn’t helpful and just makes it harder for DID systems to express themselves without being harassed. we’re an autistic, split sensitive system in a VERY unstable household, so we’re constantly splitting alters due to stress, and a lot of these alters are based on characters from popular media because consuming tv shows and video game content is one of our biggest coping mechanisms and forms of escapism (and ties into special interests). it is possible for introjects to form from new media. it’s just not as common in “normal” systems, and more common in complex DID, like we have. i understand that people are concerned about misinformation, but fakeclaiming is actually more harmful than faking. it perpetuates discrimination against disabled people to the degree that it is currently very hard to get treatment, and we are not taken seriously.

Im not a system but one of my closest friend's is and any time they describe headspace I wish I could see what its like so badly Im glad that this video is creating awareness for the DID community ❤

never really been open online about being a system. the host of the system is aware of all of our names but doesn't know most of us. i think it's only 1 or 2 of us who knows everyone amd even then it isn't well. just sharing some of our experiences!
