Wow ~ watching the sunrise in the sky must feel very different! The hot air balloon ride starts with hotel pick-up, breakfast and champagne are also provided, this is a really enjoyable trip! That Underground City is a miracle, it's hard to imagine how it was built at the beginning, it shouldn't be possible to get out without those arrow markers! Great trip in Turkey, thanks for sharing! 👍😃🙌

@@wichorast I never said that the term Kappadokia was Hellenic! It is not for sure, we don’t know if we gave a Hellenic name to these lands but our people living there used that Persian term. Deriving for the term Katpatùka meaning the land of the beautiful horses from what I know!

@@wichorast yes but where is their marks on these lands??? Everything we are finding these nowadays are Hellenic! Ancient temples and theatres, statues etc Old Orthodox churches and monasteries… All these are Hellenic!

Derinkuyu is called Malakopí by Hellenes! Those underground cities were built from Hellenes to be protected during the raids of the turks and other Muslim nations! They stored enough food and they could spent several months without the need to get out! That’s what our grandfathers said to us when they came here after 1922. Each family had a place as their home, a place for the animals, food storage and common areas like the well and the Church. The huge rocks worked as doors. They rolled them to block the entrance and they could be opened only form inside. So, if someone was form outside, he could try for days and days to open it! Many Saints of Orthodoxy were form Kappadokía. Hellas and Armenia were the first two nations accepting Christianity was their official state religion. But before that, before the Byzantine times when the emperors established Orthodoxy as the official religion of the Empire the first two areas of Hellas🇬🇷 converting to Orthodoxy were Thrace and Kappadokia!!! Saints of Kappadokia are: Saint Georgios Saint John Saint Gregorios Saint Vasilios Saint Gregory that converted Armenia to Orthodoxy Saint Theodosios Saint Porfyrios Saint Ilarion Saint Arsenios Saint Paisios … and many more

@mella land the landscape is natural, the caves are curved from humans!!! Use it 🧠 ⚙️ 💡 Armenians lived in many places in Minor Asia with us, but not that many of them lived in Kappadokia! Hellenes lived there predominantly! We created underground cities thousands of years ago and we built some incredibly beautiful churches and house in curved caves. They only thing you did was to steal all these and take ecumenical advantage of it… This is your civilisation and culture😂😂😂

Wow! The balloon ride looked magical almost surreal! The castle and the underground city are extraordinary!! I'm trying to imagine how people could live in there and move about always having to carry torches to see and crouching while carrying items back and forth.Watching you going through the narrow tunnels triggered some claustrophobia.The footage in the video is awesome! I was there 25 years ago and remember being told the region was created by the volcanoes you can see in the distance. The fairy castles are created by erosion over thousands of years. Finally Christians were persecuted and took refuge and protection by building their homes in the rocks.

HOORAY that you two got to travel above that region in the hot air balloon after all! What a fantastic experience (and more tranquil than just flying over it in a plane or viewing drone footage)! That multi-layed underground city was amazing with so MANY details, defenses,etc. However, I can't help but think of how GLOOMY it would have been for the inhabitants in the centuries before electric lights were an option with just torches, oil lamps or tallow candles to attempt to have lit the rooms. I can imagine how nasty the musty, foul ODORS must have been with 20,000 people and their livestock staying there for indefinite periods until the danger was over. Regardless, it was fascinating to visit and I appreciate you sharing it with us! I hope Carolina got better quickly! Thanks for this!

The underground city was built by first christians to get protection from roman empire...a little correction.. the in some parts the ceiling is very low to force roman soldiers to take off their famous armours...
