To all the commenters below that recommend anything *other than* a bracket that moves the load to the trailer: I hope you're not building houses or bridges for a living. NONE of the tilt/trim bracket stuffers are any better than a chunk of 2x4. They DO NOT shift the load off of the transom, unless they triangulate it to the trailer.

These are hydraulic savers, not transom savers. If your going to save your transom stay with the normal every day transom savers. Transom savers also take the weight of the hydraulics as well....

It doesn’t take the weight off of the transom like the transom saver

they dont prevent the bouncing motor to break your transom. Thats why you should use the support to your trailer. They should be called transom stuffers.

I understand where you coming from as I thought this same way for years. However after talking with many boat manufacturers the transom it sell if made to hold the support of the motor. The provides support to your trim and takes pressure off lower unit from traditional motor totes.

ALUMINUM transom savers connecting to the trailer cross member are more suited to smaller HP motors < 60 HP, and are usually used with aluminum transom Bass boats, they don't last, and they will crack if and when used with larger outboards. Motor Stix are primarily designed to take the weight off the motor tilt lock fitting and spread the motor weight evenly against the motor bracket, they ONLY steady the motor, they do NOT take the weight OFF the transom, and they are NOT designed to be transom savers.

this is not connecting to the trailer. the trailer is supposed to support the weight of the motor (with conventional transom savers). these are not doing anything to save the transom.

I don’t think you’re supposed to take the load off your transom, they’re supposed to take the load off your hydraulic system.

Do you get the same ground clearance with those? Seems like your lower unit would sit lower. Only concerned about curb on driveway.

Yes I do. It sits just as high, if not a little higher. No issues hitting anything.

but its doesn't brace to the trailer so all goes back on transom

I agree, might help save the seals in the hydraulics but that weight is still bouncing on the transom

"...takes pressure off lower unit from traditional motor totes." Could someone explain this please? These things just move the load on the transom to a slightly different angle. They don't transfer the load to the trailer. If your A/C window unit is pulling your wall apart which is a better solution an angled bracket to the same wall, or posts to the ground?

When that motor tote fails, and you skid your bottom end on pavement. And bust your tramsom. Spend a little for peace of mind, Buy DD26 American made. Enough said.

@@mikelewis5330 Fine if all you want to do is protect the seals in the cylinder. The DD26 doesn't shift the load of the engine off of the transom. The motor tote I'm using is made of tubular steel and fixes right into a trailer bracket. Unless I drive my truck of a cliff, it ain't gonna fail and drop the motor.

@@sportscarclinic /modern and I mean 10 years to the 2022’s are built to carry the load. And if you put that same large motor on a very dated boat, not mint or rated for such. Which a lot of people do. Their transom will fail. Especially certain aluminum boats. But that said I have had a motor tote break on me, it’s hydraulics keep it up. It ended up scratching my bottom end of my motor. Peace of mind for me Im going on my second Nitro with a 200 hp. Used a DD26 sense they came out with them. No problems. Other products are hard on the hydraulic seals. I’ve rebuilt my son in laws on his 125 hp. Because of an defective product.

As long as it has trim pistons I don’t see why not. To be safe though I would give TH Marine a call to be sure.
