I bought into all the negative hype and used to be very anti-tesla. But Tesla was offering Model S test drives three summers ago in Montauk, and I was like, yeah sure! I was a total convert. I bought a Model X (non performance) two years ago. 0-60 in around 4.7 seconds is faster than just about anything on the road, and faster than I ever need for congested Manhattan-to-Long Island weekend drives. I just set autopilot and let the car take care of traffic for me. On the back roads, it has the torque of a freight train and handles flatter than my Audi S4. And unlike my Audi, the Tesla has required zero service visits. Best car I've ever owned, by far.

Same here a fellow Model X owner. I share the same sentiments about the car, although I never disliked the company. The opposite, I actually loved what they were trying to do from the very beginning. How can one not like this underdog story??? :D

@@lbentley516 It's the best car I've ever owned. No problems whatsoever other than a flat tire caused by a nail in the road. It's quick off the line so very fun to drive, it's always charged when I leave home in the morning, and never having to open a door myself is just a nice little bonus. (The driver-side door detects my key and opens for me when I get close. Then it closes when I press the brake.) I'm never going back to gas cars.

Nice review Forest, the model X is one of my favorite Teslas also. The newer battery tech on the model 3 is there, but I don't think the slower charging on the X makes much of a difference. It still charges fast enough. The price of it is high, but it is also one of the safest SUV's on the market as all the weight is at the bottom of the vehicle. Glad you are promoting the Tesla vehicle as it is a nice way to make our environment go more green too. Subscribed to the channel. Good to see another fellow Texan KZfaq. ONYX wheels are a must for looks!!!! It looks wayyyyyy better with those. But beware of a stiff ride. This is coming from a fellow Model X owner.

fyi the Model 3 DOES have a Key Fob. It just isn't standard, but you can purchase it trough Tesla and it works like all the others.

I was just there at that supercharger location taking the family on a road trip in the new model 3. For those that didn't know, thats one of the superchargers in Dallas TX right next to the Rangers baseball park and the Cowboys dome...one of the most beautiful locations for a supercharger I've been to.

When I finally decide on getting one, I'll name it Hunchback. Thanks for the tip! I love the red, but that hideous chrome though, ugh.. They finally did the right thing on the refresh, it needs a dark/black/titanium color around the windows, especially on the red or white car.

One of the best if not the actual best review of the X I have watched. When you get up to freeway speed does the sound of the wind rushing by bother you? And the sound of other cars and especially large trucks passing by to me seem much louder than the truck I currently drive. In my test drive of both the Y and the X it was the first thing I noticed. Again great review. Thanks.

There’s a usb in the rear just below the cup holders. Also middle row can recline if you tilt the button. You can also chose “comfort access” so the middle row auto moves back/forth with one click for third row access :) About the room in the rear seats I agree that the back is a bit to upright, but in the 6 seater you can easily rest your legs inbetween the middle seats which is nice and even I at 185 cm tall Have gladly chosen that spot on longer journeys with my legs resting diagonally on the seat in front :)

Smaller adults than you will easily fit in the back (if you don’t put middle seats all the way back like you demonstrated) like 5.8ft person could easily be comfortable back there

Jordon S For sure! I also didn’t put the seat back all the way, just to where I had it set before. It still had a solid 2-3 more inches. Either way, smaller adults and children can fit, headroom will still be a slight issue. It’s great otherwise.

Good over view but you know you exaggerated in that third row. Pointing your toes even before the seat retracted. A seat your feet would fit under. 😂😂😂

Do you honestly think the Tesla engineers who have industry leading powertrain/aerodynamics efficiency honestly overlooked a spoiler that would "just add drag" LOL. I'm sure it is optimal man don't worry about it. Especially considering ravens hype was efficiency and range improvements. If that was their target why would they ruin it with a spoiler lol

Spoilers trade range for more traction, so he’s absolutely right. So yes, it does add drag but when you do some serious racing it’s better for it.

Interesting vid, but I don’t recall you talking about autopilot mode, which is one of the most unique features of the brand.

Autopilot (at least for now) is just an overhyped cruise control that keeps distance between the car ahead and follows the lane. Hit a blinker and it checks sensors to see if a car is there and moves. Nothing too AI or smart in production vehicles. I say this as a sucker who paid a heap for the full driving option three years ago and still waiting for real autopiloting with a new Tesla on order.

If I had enough Money to afford it, I'd consider it though I love EV's I'd rather get a Model 3 because imo it's more sensible (I'm German ) here in Europe because of smaller streets etc and parking. Thank you for the great review! I enjoyed watching

Excellent review. Why doesn’t it charge to 100%, and what was the cost for your charge? I’d rather have the Model S. Not crazy about the wing doors.

The Model X has always been my favorite. But when Model Y was announced and debuted, I thought it was going to change my mind. I still think Model Y is a great vehicle (and will be better once the production kinks are settled) but this extremely thorough review has re-solidified my love for the X. You got a Like from me! Now I just need to get the right lottery ticket to be able to buy one. 😂😂
