I would replace the tape provided with original 3m double sided mounting tape and for the textured surface i would treat with 3m adhesion promoter as well before applying.

The only issue with these magnet mounts is that the metal piece that adheres to the phone blocks the connectivity when using a wireless charger.

Thanks for very detail video instructions, Is this mount still holding well? from your video closeup the bottom base is not fully sticked to that dashboard smooth surface, the round sticky surface larger than dashboard black surface? especially in 2019 Honda Odyssey extremely hard to find a decent flat smooth surface.

The one I installed is still being used to this day. Make sure you clean it well with rubbing alcohol.

How do you remove the metal plate behind phone? I'm trying to adjust the placement.

Hi, thx for the review. Very good. I have a flip wallet leather case around my phone, so if I am looking at the screen, then I will flip the front cover to the back. This means it would have 2 layers of leather on the back. Is the magnet strong enough to hold in this situation? Thx.

I tried some of these but they always keep fallin on bumpy roads, hows your experience soo far? Is it stronger then “Regular” ones?

Unsolicited advice: I use WizGear and find them to be some of the best in class. I actually go to the effort of importing them from the US or Canada as they don't sell them in Japan and they're priced at hundreds of dollars on Amazon.jp. I've found that they hold up really well during regular driving and during the occassional "off-road" (as much as you can get in this country) they've held up quite well. All the best.

Both mounts in both cars have been working great. Very strong magnet. No issue with it falling off. Phone stays where I put it.

So 18 months later, how is this mount holding up in your Odyssey? Still stuck to the dash okay? Has it failed to hold your phone going over bumps?

The phone mount is still in its place. Has not fallen off. Just make sure you clean the surface very well with rubbing alcohol. Going over bumps, the phone has not fallen off, but because it's a flat surface, the phone might rotate a bit.

Looking for phone holder. Any double side tape like 3M, suction cup will not last longer.

Dave Makoski I always have a case on my phone, so whenever I use magnetic mounts I never stick the disk on my phone. I keep the sticker on and place that side facing my phone. Then slip the case on to wedge the disk between the case and phone. I’ve never had issues with it moving around or scratching my phone

It’s seems like most holders on the market are junk and don’t work well after a while. Either falls off, break or do don’t stick. No one can get this right.

Thanks for reply, that dash surface area so tiny , is your mount bottom sticky part fully seated on the dashboard shinny area. I used scotches with MagSafe and it’s now coming off. May be your one has very superior glue.

Also make sure you clean it very well with isopropyl alcohol before installing the mount.
