I just installed this on 2018 F150. I did add an aluminum plate between base and phone holder to lower the phone 2 inches. I really like this setup.

Lol haven't jumped it, but I'm sure it would stay. I've gone on steep hills, whoops, donuts, and it doesn't budge. Great mount!

Enjoyed the video. Thinking about ordering, but just curious if you have tried removing the mount? I'm wondering if it rubbed any of the finish off the vent? Or any other marks from it?

I’ve removed it a few times to dust around it, and haven’t noticed any kind of scratches or marks. But I also wasn’t looking for any. Underneath the mount there are some 3m sticky pads used to hold it in place. I never applied those, but I kept them on and they’ve acted sort of like a protective pad.

It's nice to see a decent mount . But 55 Buck's for the frame and 40 bucks for the phone holder it's a very expensive phone holder . Great video though and nice to see

Thanks! It is a little pricey but honestly well worth it. I’ve spent more money on half a dozen other mounts that I’ve just thrown away. This one has lasted and works well when I’m off-road which is a big plus for me. Thanks for watching!

Looks solid. Are you able to rotate the phone 90 degrees into landscape mode easily?

Yes it does, it can rotate to the side very easy.

Hey dude, I came to your video from the site actually trying to find out how I find out which clip I need for my phone. Do I need to buy something extra for my specific phone size on the site, and then the pivot ball plate separately?

Hey! Yes that’s right. You have to purchase 2 things. One is the mount for your car, the other is the phone holder for your phone that will connect to your car mount. Does that help?

I'm not sure actually. That's a great question for the company. If you message them on Instagram they're usually pretty responsive. @proclipusa

Nice product but their website suggests that the mounted phone could interfere with F150s with column shifts. Looks like I’m stuck with a vent mount :(

JD Meyers It might be too far away I think but I’ve found a vent mount that sits up nice and high and doesn’t interfere too much with my AC vent.

When I have my phone plugged in, yes, Apple CarPlay is still active.

@@raptorsofinsta sorry am dumb didn’t notice you have the standard mount. I was actually wondering if with the charging mount, would I still be able to use apple CarPlay. Because my phone would be plugged into the third party charging instead of plugging it in directly to my phone🤨

This is one of my big annoyances of the F150. They bury the USBs behind the sliding compartment and there’s no way to route the wire out and keep the slider closed.

It’s not metal, it’s a nice hard plastic. It hasn’t scratched my dash at all if that’s what you’re wondering.

Does the phone turn sidewides ? Or just upright ?

Yes it can turn sideways too. There’s also an option for a magnetic mount, but I opted for this mount because I don’t always have a case to hold the magnet by my phone and rather not deal with that.

Is the mount capable of rotating between vertical and horizontal mode?

Yes it can rotate both directions. I always leave it vertical tho.

Nice mount, but it'll be in the sun a lot, which is really bad for electronics.

Thanks. Nah it's actually not in the sun very much, it gets blocked by the roof. Won't do any damage to the phone.
