One thing to note: the official pixel case does wear out over time. My pixel2's fabric began fraying at the corners after about a year and a half. Still an amazing case. Worth every penny, though it will eventually need to be replaced if you plan on using your phone for longer than 2 years.

Used to swear only by Spigen but the Pela "compostable" argument piqued my curiosity. Was afraid of the design but it feels protective and I really dig the waxed texture. As a bonus it has the potential to trigger interesting conversations 😊

I have a Spigen case that has a clear back and black lip. I really like it, BUT it's got zero grip/texture around the lip. I've almost dropped it several times when trying to pick it up. I really like the design and color, but I really wish it had some grip to the sides. Most of the cases I've seen are either all black or all clear. :(

Such a shame there’s not many pixel 5 cases. Used to see plenty pixel 4 and 4a but there seems limited options for pixel 5.

A Rajan True. I’m planning to even buy an iPhone 12 case for the Pixel 5 since they’re almost similar in dimension size lmao. Then again, iPhone 12 has the boxy sides

I wish google would hear this and make their cases' edges a little bit bigger because I remember having my pixel two with the official case, put it upside down and my phone got scratched. For now I go for clear and I prefer Ringke over spigen or any other phone case.

Green chameleon clashes with sorta sage as they are different shades of green. The grey Google case is a better match

Tried the Google fabric case, it's pricey and surprisingly slippery. Using the Spigen liquid air case atm and it's pretty solid.

I'm very happy with the turquoise Ringke Fusion. It seems really protective and shows off the Sorta Sage colour. You can add a wrist strap or lanyard.

How's the grip on the fabric case? It obviously has texture, but have you experienced it slipping out of your hand when picking up the phone?

@@TypeRyRy I have the fabric case for the Pixel 4. My phone's more grippy yet still comfortable, and remains slim and light. All the buttons are covered, but very easy to press. Easily my favourite case of all time.

@@TypeRyRy I've got the blue fabric case on my Pixel 5 and out of the box it's lovely and premium but my does it age quickly, the corners are fraying and it's faded already only about 5/6 months in. I wouldn't get another one and all of this is just from going in and out of my pocket and sitting on a desk. Nothing that would have abnormally worn it.

@@TypeRyRy to actually answer your question (4 months late lol) I just received the fabric case in the mail and it's immediately going back because it's insanely slippery compared to the phone itself... When I choose a case I want it to improve grip, not make it way worse, and this ain't the ticket in the right direction... if this is too late to help you, I hope it can at least help someone else trying to decide if this overpriced cheap ass case is worth it or not... tl;dr - it's not worth it

How are these cases with the gestures? I bought a pela for my 2xl and the case got in the way I couldn't use it with my phone

@@cowden93 the other case I had for my 2xl pretty much blocked the sides of the phone. I couldn't do a lot with the case on my phone. It was the worst. I had it on for an hour and I couldn't deal with it

Not interested in a single one of these cases. Give me cases that survive drops, look elegant, and best of all...... Have a stand for when viewing videos. My Note 8 case comes with a snappable stand (In case it breaks, you can just pop it back on).

Really hoping Bellroy comes out with a vegan option. The real leather is a sad and nasty option IMHO! Great video and cases!

While not environmentally friendly and horrible for animals real leather is better :(. vegan leather probably wouldn't be a very good choice because it is very poor abrasion resistance.
