When I was a little girl I wanted to be a ballerina. I took a dance class at the park and rec center when I was 12. I had to save up my own money to take it. I still admire the talent and skill of the dancers. What I love about your channel is that I can learn more about the dancers shoes and feet. It helps me appreciate the art even more being knowledgeable about it. So thank you for teaching me about dancers feet.

I’m both a ballet dancer and an ice skater, and they really help each other! With dance you improve your flexibility, your balance and your artistic and “soft” side, and with skating you achieve the power that you need in order to do leaps (I mean ballet leaps). Ballet is absolutely a great support to skating

PLEASE COLLAB WITH CLAUDIA DEAN!!!! She was a soloist with the Royal Ballet and started as a tutorial based youtube channel and changed to ballet entertainment videos around the time she made her first leotard collection. At the start of this pandemic she offered a free live class on Instagram and announced on it her new platform, Claudia Dean world.live to improve ballet anytime anywhere. The new platform quickly outgrew CDW.live and got its own website, Coach Me World. The reason why this would be a great collab is because she was formally a Bloch ambassador but when her brand grew so quickly, Bloch started to see her powerhouse self as a threat and she has since callabed with a local dance wear store to find her fit in different brands, but I think it would be fun if you two did a virtual fitting where you find her all round shoe, and in another video her pointe shoe journey and different problems she had in the different shoes and stuff.

@@renskekleinlebbink5377 maybe you can try signing up for a class? Since you already have some experience in a genre of dance, ballet may be good for strengthening your modern dance technique and you may be really, really good at ballet also. There’s some good ballet teachers on KZfaq as well whom you can learn from for free (such as Kathryn Morgan). I recommend her channel. And don’t worry about your English, you can write pretty well considering it’s your second language. English isn’t my main language either.

I'm sure you would have a great time, and before you know it you'll be dancing on the tips of your toes! Also in your previous comment you seem to know what you're doing. I started out just like you a few years ago.. in September i took my first real class and got moved up to intermediate and pre-pointe. Yesterday in pre Pointe class my teacher said I have enough strength to go en Pointe at the barre in my demi Pointe shoes! I've enjoyed watching your fitting videos this year. I wear Gaynor Minden pointe shoes and I frequently have a hard time staying on pointe (not rolling backwards off my box). I don't usually have this problem when the shoes are new, only when they start to die. Is there a way to safely harden them so that happens less?

Ava's box is wider and there's more platform space. Kylee is softer, but also has a shorter vamp which may not work depending on the length of your toes. Ava also comes in 2 shank strengths: regular & strong.

Hi Josephine! I’ve been en pointe for 3 years and have always been a difficult fitting. I’m super petite, and my feet are narrow and very compressible. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks so much! 💕

@@ThePointeShop Thank you! My fittings take a long time because as my feet warm up the shoe fits very differently. My feet compress more and more, and combined with the shoe breaking in, I end up going through the box which also makes it harder for me to get over. I use boxliners, but this can cause the shoe to feel too short especially because I'm still growing. Any tips or shoe model recommendations would be so appreciated! This is unrelated but on the off chance that you might know, a question. I never danced and am probably twice your age. But I have been in a very long, very abusive relationship and still trying to escape. I got to the point where I am looking at why bad men are drawn to me, because there must be something about ME that I need to change to avoid this. They've done a "walk test" with people who are known psychopaths and they ask them to look at filmed images of people walking away from them, and to select the easiest victim to target. In less than 10 seconds they can spot the person. The person they choose is someone who had been abused in the past, or some other kind of trauma. It was rather shocking that they could size up someone that quickly and like predators select the weakest prey. At any rate I wrote that because in the video they said that people took ballet training of a certain kind and it somehow changed them so they were no longer appearing as easy prey. I don't think they said what kind of ballet training or where to get it which is a real shame. I figure it has something to do with how a person carries themselves. I've noticed in your fittings all these ballerinas have amazing posture, something my parents had complained about since I was little. But I am taller than average and felt like I was sticking out in a crowd so I tried to shrink. Anyway, I was just wondering if you knew or could recommend a way to start just learning to get stronger and improve posture and how a person carries themselves. (Also in addition to bad marriage, i've got some creepy stalker who likes my high arches and will NOT leave me alone). I dont' want to have to fight these people but I'm getting backed into a corner and no one is helping.

Hmmm... "It's kinda like plastic... it's made out of polymer" Polymers are a class of natural or synthetic substances composed of very large molecules. Plastics ARE mainly a "synthetic or semi-synthetic" polymer. So while all plastics are polymers, not all polymers are plastics. That being said... the question is - does Gaynor Minden use a natural or synthetic polymer? . :)
