The printer was a bit complicated to hook up kzfaq.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 but it does the job very efficiently. I like the ink wells versus the ink cartages that cost an arm and a leg. It prints quickly and the quality is excellent. It shuts off when not in use, so you have to remember to turn it on. Overall, it exceeds my expectations. I'll update my review in a couple of months.

@@EasySundayClub Hp Envy since I just started and it's good enough for what I need (making affordable, cute art). I don't print over letter size. Quality is decent enough but my worry is it might not last as long as the other higher end printers. I may invest in the higher end ones if things go well! One problem with the HP envy is there really isn't a dedicated art/photo paper from HP that has no watermark on the back. Canon and Epson at least has photo paper with no watermark that you can use for art prints. (Edit: Thanks for mentioning rebates.)

Any advice? or do you think I should bite the bullet and spend the extra $ and get the Epson p700? Thank you!!

Canon Pixma Pro 200 just dropped in Nov 2020 and replaced the 100. You can get it on amazon now w/ free shipping for $600: amzn.to/3nuZvgc . Please note the inks are not archival so they are not gallery grade. For your use as greeting cards I think it is okay. I would only get the p700 if you need that archival grade inks and want to print and sell professional quality photos and art prints :) Read some reviews on BHPhoto and Amazon before you purchase.

any of the mid tier printers like Canon Pixma Pro 10 is good and support borderless printing. But since you’re likely always printing in bulk you may look into printing speed and ink cost to see if there’s a difference between the contenders.

I have the Canon Pixma Pro 100. I invested in this printer about 2/3 years ago, At the time I was doing more calligraphy then watercolor and it was the printer that everyone in that community seemed to be using. Now I am doing a lot more Watercolor and dabbling with printing them at home. Looking back I do wish I knew the difference between dye based inks and pigment (archival) inks. Like you said the Pixma Pro 100 doesn't have archival inks but the Pixma Pro 10 does have pigment inks which are archival. Knowing that now I would definitely invest in the Pro 10 over the Pro 100. I will eventually upgrade when my business is doing better more consistent sales. But now you are getting me interested in that Epson P900!! :) Thanks so much for the review!!

Yes Jen!! I am prepping a p800 vs p900 vid and the p900 is pretty awesome im learning. If i were in your situation i think u could sell your canon on offerup or craigslist to help get some funds to get the epson. Challenge with watercolor is all the gradients and a higher end printer would capture those details better. I have another video on backlog that goes into how we print in volume at home. Love this video! Thank you for all the helpful info. I have been doing EXTENSIVE (like seriously extensive) research on printers to start my art business with, and feel even more overwhelmed than ever with all the options! There are a few printers you didn't mention which I'm wondering if you know anything about, compared to these ones... 1. The Epson Surecolor P700- also A3 sized and pigment based inks, but a few hundred cheaper than the P900. 2. The Canon Pixma ip8750 3. Canon Prograf 300 Also, do you find it difficult ever to print greeting cards on a large format printer? For example if I'm buying pre-scored greeting card paper that is 10x7 (folds to 5x7), will I have trouble printing straight and accurately on a wide format printer??? Is it economical or necessary to print greeting cards on an archival pigment based ink printer? I want to sell both high quality art prints AND greeting cards and would love to print them on the same printer

hi andie. here is my response. epson p700: 13 inch version of p900. you can find a first look review of the p900 i did here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kK53mapnnL2wpmw.html The Canon Pixma ip8750 - seems more of a lower tier printer. you seem like you're pretty serious so would recommend mid to higher tier. Canon Prograf 300 - amazing beautiful 36 inch printer. wow. would try to find these used in your area if possible and if you have the business to justify this pretty amazing. We have a 17 inch p800. no problems printing greeting cards. we love it for greeting cards. check out making greeting card video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9WJncSY27W8imQ.html . we print on 8.5 x 11 paper and cut and fold. i would not buy pre-scored paper. i would print on regular paper and then use a creasing machine if doing in bulk. you would have to test if using pre-scored paper. i dont have experience in that. creasing machine review: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iN9idcSL1qumYIk.html not necessary to print on archival pigment. not the most economical but there are solutions to make it economical. with a p900 or p800 you will be able to sell high quality prints and greeting cards. there are third party solutions to save money on ink by using refillable cartridges. good luck.

Yes. Might do a video of break down of cost. But basically .25 cents for paper maybe $1-2 for ink. Also you control quality and quantity. This does not take in consideration your time and other tools you may need to invest in up front like a paper trimmer or cutter and the printer. At the volumes we are doing right now still makes sense to print at home and we get help here and there if we need to do packaging. But usually try to do while watching Netflix : 0

Can you use the Canon Pixma pro10 for shirt sublimation as well? I’m looking for a printer for stickers, cards and possibly sublimation later one but didn’t know if I could find one that does them all.
@EasySundayClub
@EasySundayClub 3 жыл бұрын
Found from googling: Canon cannot be used for sublimation, the printer uses heat to transport inks, it will start to prematurely sublimate in the print head due to the sub ink. You must use a piezo head like found on Epson or Ricoh. These use electrical charge to transport the inks thru the head and not heat. Saw on a site the Epson xp-15000 can be used for sublimation but would double check. Thank you!

I have noticed with the Epson Ecotanks, the budget printers don't have the ability to configure quality while the mid tier can. Outside of that they are identical and the ability to modify quality and colour settings is pretty important. :( It would be nice if the ecotanks could be a contender for professional printing based purely on how the ink is supplied. Though the ink supply is a double edged blade as CISS based printers have a bad relationship with clogs.
@EasySundayClub
@EasySundayClub 3 жыл бұрын
Would have to agree with you there. Eco-tanks do give you flexibility and help to keep costs down but quality still has to catch up. There are refillable ink cartridge options for the higher end printers and third party inks to keep the ink costs down. There are risks for the ink clogging though so watch out for that.

Viciouz: we had the 3880 for a long time before i broke it trying to fix it and upgraded to the p800. If i had never broken it i would still be using it. At the time we still had it i was experimenting with third party inks which are easier to do than the p800. I would keep the 3880 and use the heck out of it and save the money for other investments like a crikut vinyl sticker cutter or a 40 inch commercial printer if you need to get that large. The 3880 is great for photos and the other use cases you used. If i were buying a new printer i would get the new p900 coming out soon which is $100 over ur budget. If used i would go for p800.

Ink jet printers are better for photos and image-heavy documents. Inkjet printers do a better job of blending smooth colors than laser printers. @@samanthak.9406 you'll love it. if you only need the 13'' version then you can get the P700. cool thing about these printers besides the extra violet color is that it is more ink efficient. the current P800 dumps the ink in the system when it switches from photo black ink to matte black ink or vice versa. it literally cost a couple bucks every time it does this so we just leave it on matte black except when we have to print some family photos. the p900/700 solves this problem :) look into icc / printer profiles to match up with the paper you are printing on.

From research: limitation of a laser printer is that they only really print on certain kinds of paper. If you want to print out photographs then a laser printer is not for you as they are not yet capable of printing high-resolution images. Also you cannot put photographic paper through a laser printer. For the best quality images you need to buy a bubble jet ink printer that can transfer an image onto photographic paper.

Don't waste your money on an Epson 7750, it may have ink tanks and print good quality (when it works), they have regular issues and break down after less than 12 months, so you end up with a useless printer. Epson should focus on better build quality, resolving temperamental issues and break downs. If they did that, they would have a winning printer.

It can be done but you’ll need to cut them to size. Also I think most tarot cards have glossy surface so you’ll need to find the right paper.
