Girl, do not buy that crimper!!!! You can spend $100 less to get the exact same results. Unless you're a hairdresser or will use it literally every single day, there's no need to spend that much on a hair tool.

At this point I’m kind of over the Sephora videos by other creators. Honestly, if you weren’t my favorite creator I would’ve never clicked on it. It can be hard to get a good sale on more high end beauty products, so if I was part of the 20% group I would probably be more enthusiastic. But alas, I only get 10%, which is much more modest of a discount. But it’s okay because I also didn’t have to buy $1000 worth of product either. For years I was caught up in the cycle of spending more than I needed to maintain a higher tier, which is ridiculous because it’s not part of my job. I’m just happy that I’ve reached a point in my buying habits where I’ve found my balance, even if it keeps me in the bottom tier. But it was nice to go window shopping with you today! Unfortunately, as much as I love makeup, I don’t really have close friends and family who share the same passion.
@blueshoes915

Same! I got caught up in the makeup world of buying tons of makeup and palettes where I would use 3 colors. It’s definitely not worth it and I realized I’m pretty boring with my makeup. I want it to look natural with long lashes. So, no need for spending $1000 to get a better discount on more things I don’t need. I’m definitely with you on this. Jess is definitely more my vibe of makeup and more conscious than other makeup KZfaqrs. Have a fabulous day!

@@blueshoes915 You can get better deals at the brands websites. You’ll get 25-30% off . It’s ridiculous how these KZfaqrs spend $500 plus dollars for 20% off really? That’s not really a good deal. I spent $50 I never spend more than that at any VIB sale. It’s just not worth it. There is a pandemic going on, it’s just foolish to go crazy for something as meaningless as makeup. I love makeup too but I never found the Sephora sale a reason to go all out !!

I found myself so stressed out with all the sephora sale videos in my feed. My budget is very limited right now and they just kept making me want all sorts of stuff I can't afford right now. In the end I am buying a couple of staples I am almost out of, but I am making myself resist everything else. I've seen some people's (not youtubers) halls and thought I can't even imagine being able to afford all that! But I knew I could watch this one without any anxiety. 🙂

Most people probably can't afford the hauls and are putting it on credit, going into debt to "keep up with the Jones'". For youtubers *they* probably can't afford all of it, their *business* does so its an entirely different situation. At the end of the day the happiness that comes from material things is temporary, but being debt free and in charge of your money is forever! You got this!
@blueshoes915

I hear you. I am on a no buy but still like to watch these videos. We can do it! Being debt free and finally having money to buy a bigger, more worthwhile purchase is worth the restraint. I like to look through my makeup and see if I have something similar to what I want to buy. I usually do as I usually go for the same look all the time. I realize now that I do not need the “best” of everything, just something that works and isn’t crap. Good luck, you got this! 🙌🏻💕

The Allure Best in Beauty Awards (and every other "best of' associated with a magazine) is 100% a paid for award. I've had several friends work in beauty and/or magazines and they confirmed these awards are totally misrepresenting themselves. Typically the magazine offers an award spot to their advertising partners for an additional fee. So it should really be called the Allure Best in Advertising With Us for the Most Money Award. Depending on the magazine there may be some minor input from one of the editors but its mostly just who pays the most money for the spot.

@@emilyschultz2102 Name a product which won the award that did not first advertise in the magazine. It is also a well known fact (and has been reported by present and past Allure staffers) that the use of the award seal requires a payment to Allure per product item.

The Tower glosses are AWESOME! They remind me of the Marc Jacobs formula, but better and way more affordable. If you purchase the Natasha Denona palette I would love a review. I bought the bronze one recently and ended up returning it. I felt like the formula was just so so and comparable to a lot of my MakeupGeek shadows. Also, for the Amika Beachwaver I would look at reviews compared to a more affordable one on Amazon. I think Leighannsays has a video on it. Just that way you could compare your options before splurging. Love your videos Jess!

I accidently used a thickening conditioner once and my hair was so fluffy and looked crazy. FYI I have VERY thick hair so I don't need a thickening shampoo/conditioner so I can attest they definitely work! I also once dried my hair upside down as a kid and my hair was really fluffy and crazy but nowhere near as crazy as using the thickening conditioner. I had to rewash my hair a few times to get it back to normal because I looked like I stuck my finger into an electrical socket (or looked like Albert Einstein - hair was just everywhere!). So I'd definitely try it if you have thin hair!

If you like the glowy look, a must have is the Hourgalss Ambient Lighting Palette. I have probably had it too long but when you dust this all over your face it is gorgeous and I always get so many compliments. I am also loving the Marc Jacobs At Lashed mascara! I would save your money and buy the Bead Head Wave Artist Deep Waver.. $25 at target!

Thanks for the info. Hadn't ordered anything yet. Trying to decide if I really need anything. Bumble & Bumble is amazing to add volume!! I started using it back in 2012. Last year I started using Living Proof's thickening line. I really like it too. The B&B's thickening spray is my favorite out of everything!!

In my opinion thickening hair products, like sprays and mousse work WAY better then any thickening shampoo and conditioner.

I highly recommend the Bumble & Bumble texture spray in the blue can. It is awesome. Also, instead of the thickening spray, maybe try the Bumble and Bumble hairdresser’s invisible oil primer (not the actual oil one). I get my hair cut there and my hairdresser just told me last week that that is her secret weapon. I had already been using it so glad to hear she thought the same.

Loving your look today! So pretty! I tried the Living Proof dry shampoo based on your recommendation and I LOVE it! Thank you! Bumble & Bumble I think makes the best texturizing spray😉. I have the Tower 28 bronzer and the Tower 28 face spray and I love them both so much! I stocked up on all my Olaplex products and re-purchased my Hourglass Dim light powder. Stocked up on my Ordinary products and am trying the IT foundation. Gotta love this sale😊 Really looking forward to your upcoming dupes video!!! Have a fantastic weekend! Xo Tammy Roy 🇨🇦

I have the Amika hairwaver and I love it. I really appreciate it’s barrel/paddle combination. It gets every single hair and the temperature range is large. It’s stupidly expensive, but it’s worth the investment if you 1) have long hair and 2) will use it frequently.

I have had super fine hair for years and shampoo has always been problematic for me. Now it's also falling out a lot because of health issues that I have. The thickening shampoo doesn't work for me at all. It's exactly how you said, they dried my hair out so it seemed thicker. Recently I tried Raw Sugar shampoo which I found at Target. I love it!! I used the moisture smoothie one. The conditioner smells amazing! You do have to emulsify that a bit because it's thick but it's so good. Shampoo and conditioner don't wear my hair down at all.

I don’t have the B&B shampoo, but I do have the B&B thickening spray that I use while my hair is still wet and either let it air dry or blow dry and then style. I love it!! It doesn’t make my hair sticky, oily or crunchy and the thickening/volumnizing lasts for several days.

Re: Thickening Shampoos. I have very fine hair and the only things that's ever helped me is a leave in conditioner by The Good Stuff. It's at target (and online) and I love it a lot! You basically use it in place of any other conditioners you use and I find that it last multiple days in my hair.

Holy Moly did I find some goodies! 😍 The I Heart Revolution chocolate palettes, the tasty coffee and latte palettes, and they have Disney Princess collections! I also saved Jess’ fav quad from XX Revolution to my wishlist. 😁 I’m still trying to reason with myself on if I’d use all the shades from all those palettes and if there are repeat shades.
