That’s being plugged into the CalDigit Dock. We already had a USBC to HDMI adapter lying around, so we used that. Forgot to mention that in the video 😅thanks for bringing it up!

@@MikeyD480 we ran SDI to our Audience Displays, so it made sense to run those off of the BM Ultrastudio Monitor. Then for the Stage display we ran HDMI from the CalDigit

@@ZachBrownMedia You mention 3 Displays (Laptop, Audience, and Stage I'm assuming). Apple has stated that the M1 can only have 2 Displays, and docks don't extend that limitation. Are you saying that the CalDigit Dock is letting you run 3 different displays?

We don’t record audio at this campus currently! Though one way to get around this is to create a mixbus on the Presonus and run that out of a Aux out or XLR out and run that into a audio interface to then record in Logic, GarageBand, etc. Basically the same process just less convenient

There are a couple reasons a stage display might not be showing up: - Is the Stage Display button turned on (top right corner) - make sure there’s a separate monitor or video output you’re sending the stage screen to. A decimator or black magic converter is mounted to the back of the TVs to convert from SDI to HDMI 👍🏼

Yeah 8GB has been fine for us. If you’re worried you could go up to the 16GB. But if you look around on YT there are a couple videos of M1 stress tests with Pro7. They handle it pretty well

Hmmm interesting haven’t come across an issue like that. Sounds like it’s not a cable either. Is there an update needed for the BM monitor?

Yes you can, but you have to be thoughtful with your setup. There are only two Thunderbolt 3 Ports on the computer.. 1 of those is taken by the UltraStudio Monitor and 1 is taken by the CalDigit Dock. The CalDigit Dock also has 1 Thunderbolt 3 Port that is made avaiable to you, but that port is needed for the USBC to HDMI adapter that runs to the Stage Screen. So you don't have another Thunderbolt 3 port to run an additional video out via another UltraStudio Monitor.. so there are two main options you'd have. 1. Don't use a Stage screen and instead have the main audience screen run from the SDI Splitter to the back for a reference of what slide is on. Then that opens up a screen that you can dedicate for broadcast 2. Upgrade to the Extrenal PCIe Chassis that I laid out later in this video.. then you'll have up to four video outs that you can use (Not counting the computer's second display)

A placeholder display has no output. You can create a placeholder and then assign it to an output later
