@@isaacmettle The super version (E.Ryu, Akuma and Oni) are all 0 frame grabs, with 1 frame startup. So if you force your opponent to block, they can't walk backwards - meaning they'd have to jump when you do the input, which is super risky and can't be done in 1 frame. Walking forward does nothing. So a kara demon (kara means doing a move which moves you forward, cancelled into a special) is very hard to deal with unless you predict it. (But not impossible to predict, because your opponent need a full super meter) An ultra demon (Akuma' ultra 1) has 0 frames startup, but 5 frames before it actually moves to grab - so anyone can jump it before it grabs, even point-blank. That's why you never see anyone combo'ing into it. Then only way to combo into Akuma' Ultra demon is by using red focus in a combo (3 bars) or hitting a regular counterhit focus or fully charged. All 3 options scales the damage a lot, so very rarely done - as an optimal combo can easily outdo the damage. The reason why Akuma' ultra demon can work as an anti-air (like against Gamerbee/Adon) is because it has start-up invincibility for the 5 frames its activates. So if you see a jump-in, you can do a sweep and do the input 5 frames before you're hit by an attack and counter it with a demon. It's not a true counter-hit, so you don't get increased damage, but the opponent cannot jump - because jumping takes 4 frames. In short, if you see the ultra come out you jump and escape it at the last possible frame: Experienced players will jump backwards and get an immediate jump-in combo. A few characters have longer pre-jump frames, but is still able to jump out of it - I believe it's specifically coded so that even if your character has slow pre-jump frames, you'll still be able to jump out of it. Ie. no 'free' Ultras on T. Hawk, Zangief, Hakan & Hugo - who all have 5 or more frames in their pre-jump. Hope that sums it up :)

Zed Braun when sfiv came out you had to unlock guile akuma gouken and a few others with like 8 characters available at launch and getting all the perfects and ultra combo finishes to fight and unlock those locked characters was a lot of fun at least it was memorable for me and my friends and not only did we not complain it felt like the old school days of punishing secret fighter unlocks of generations past and now people hate SFV even tho the aesthetic is beautiful and although a few growing pains is really an awesome addition to the franchise I don’t see where the hate still comes from for V as it’s shaping up to be one of my favorites

ive had it fail for me before. more than once. i havent figured it out how though. im kinda new to Akuma playing. im really wondering where in messing up. im pretty surprised how consistently im able to pull it off though. street fighter special moves timings has always been a struggle for me and this particular string of commands looked so daunting but i can pull off raging demon at least 9 out of ten attempts. im really not that good at fighting games. i havent touched them in like 20 years but i started getting back on street fighter.
