Ive never bought a “plant grow light”. Ive been using the Amazon Brite White basic light bulbs you put in a normal house lamp/ceiling fixture.

Alocasias for sure. My Pink Dragon and Maharani's got sunburned in too much light. They are all off to the side of south facing windows and are doing very well there.

My Monstera Siltipecana seems to be happy in a lower light setting. I appreciate plants that are both beautiful and tolerant of different lighting situations.

Yes the black velvet does great with lower light mine is away from the grow light & puts out big beautiful leaves

Raven zz are best u can barely ever kill them and new growth looks so amazing

I grow some Hoya in lower light and they do well. Also rhipsalis and zz zamicro. The zamicro is pretty hard to find but does great in low light. Zz zenzi I’ve found needs more light. Peperomia, rhaphidophora and asparagus ferns also do great. Hawarthias can take lower light.

Good morning Ashley! I learned the hard way on the importance of grow lights. I've been using the two-strip grow light from Amazon ($20). Their doing its job but I want to see on the light bulbs next. I heard HausBright is really good. We shall see. Have a fantastic weekend.

I would love to see a video one day on all your plants and how they were when you purchased them VS now. If that makes sense. It's almost like a then and now video. Where you see how much the plant has grown since getting it VS how it is currently.

Great video Ashley. I'm very fortunate that I don't have low light conditions anywhere in my home, but if we do get that rare cloudy day, I'm ready. I have the GE Par38 Light Bulbs strategically placed thru out my home. But I do know of one that does not like direct sunlight and does great in the shade, sago palms. Dappled light is fine, but they crisp up in direct sun.

I know people with high humidity that require mold resistant drywall, paint, and use a dehumidifier. Where I am located up north, mold would spore in high humidity. The only way I would be able to keep tropical plants would be in a greenhouse or something of the sorts.

I have a Hoya Chelsea & it's in a South window. But had a carnosa princess in a westish& it did well. I have a aglaonema & it's been everywhere in my house. It did well in the lower light. I haven't has good look with the micans 🤦🏾‍♀️🙁🤷🏾‍♀️ but just got another one🙏🏾

Rare low light plant Homalomena Maggie. I have it on a top shelve, medium size plant. Growing very large leave but needs humidity for the leaves as they are fin leaves.

Do know which rare plant does well in an office setting? I’m far from a window so all I have is florescent lighting in the office, the lighting is about 70 foot candles and humidity is about 30-40% average. I would like to bring one of my rare/ non common plants however I don’t want to risk any of them dying without knowing. Thanks!!!

I only have north and south facing windows except for one and it is a west facing. I have had to get creative. Lol my bedroom only has north but my problem is that I like it cold in there like 50 to 65. I would love to have plants in there but scared to freeze them out lol. Any suggestions on that lol
