I’d be interested in a review if the Stewart golf trolley. It would be a choice between the Stewart golf and Motocaddy for myself. Thanks

I've been using a MGI Zip Navigator for 2 summers now and it is great and the best thing is the distance that the remote control will work at. I play one course where on a particular hole I walk about 150 yards back to get to the tee area, so I send my cart the other way to be waiting for me after I hit my drive. As a test I tried the remote from about 140/150 yards and it started up no problem. Awesome.

The MGI and Motocaddy buggies are amazing in my opinion, not a huge fan of the Powakaddy, just not as well made as the other two. I ended up getting the MGI Zip Navigator AT, only problem is the MGI accessories are terrible. I ended up finding an All In 1 accessory made by Stadium Golf, that really is a massive help when playing, it carries absolutely everything you need and has a small footprint. I'm pretty sure they make them for the Motocaddy buggies too.

I got one of those accessories last week, only used it once but what a difference it makes when you're playing

I have the MG1 Navigator and the Powakaddy RX1 GPS remote. The Powakaddy is a superior design and finish. Easier to transport and one touch fold down and open. The MGI remote is superior to use as the Powakaddy sometimes will not work going forward (maybe a dud remote) . MGI remote controller has the right amount of response and larger buttons. Walking pace is much better on the Powakaddy as the MGI is somewhere between 4 and 5. Preference is the Powakaddy.

I have the Powakaddy RX1 GPS and confirm all the experiences you mention like losing contact with the remote at realtively short distance or just not going forward when pressing the button.. I have had to return the whole thing once and they replaced the battery, charger and the drive shaft. I also had to return the remote which stopped working and was subequently returned without any screws in it. I also believe the rear wheel does not extend far enough out and it is more prone to toppling over. However my main gripe is the responsiveness and the way that it handles. I have borrowed a friends Motocaddy remote and a Stewart remote and both are more responsive and the controller is much nicer to use. The buttons on the RX1 remote are small and difficult to push. Sometimes I go to stop it and it doesn't quite click and carries on - I am worried that this could happen near water or a road. I have hit other obstacles because it failed to react in time. It also means that you sometimes over press and this causes the trolley to overturn. Additionally, in my opinion there is not enough speed graduation. I tend to spend most of the time at either 5 or 6 and it would be good to have speeds 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5. One other thing i have noticed is that after a firm turn it almost stops for a second. It is not a smooth transition. All these issues make it quite an unenjoyable experience. The responsiveness and the remote are the big deal breakers for me. I am honestly thinking of selling it and buying the Motocaddy now it is available with GPS.

Great review. I have the Stewart Q Follow (for 3 months). Given the chance, I would probably go for the Motocaddy or Powakaddy. The Stewart does not have a control on the handle, which means there are times where you are desperately trying to remove the remote from your belt (or if you are unfortunate to lose the remote the trolley is useless). The DHC on the Stewart seems to be barely functional. The Stewart seems more flimsy, it sometimes collapses when pushing the trolley (yes, I have run out of power out on the course) which is very irritating and can't be good for the locking mechanism. The weight of the Stewart with battery is a lot more than the others. Although the follow function is useful, I have found I don't use it as much as I had expected (on some occasions it has failed to stop and crashed into my legs, making me nervous to use the function on a downward slope). If anyone would like to swap a Powakaddy RX1 for the Stewart q Follow I'm open to offers.

It's really interesting to read this comment, so thought we would weigh in to cover a couple of points for more insights and advice. We actively choose not to have any controls on the handle: if you are using handle controls, we strongly believe you aren't using a remote product to its max. When using in remote mode, keep the handset in your hand to ensure you have control at all times. We'd only clip it to a belt when in follow mode. If the trolley does run out of battery, then you can engage free wheel mode and push without as much effort. The battery in the handset will typically last 2-3 rounds but we recommend to give it a charge after every round. Although we absolutely wouldn't recommend it, the Q is strong enough to ride and definitely not flimsy. The weight is certainly more than some others on the market but not by much and this is down to the fact we go with a dual motor set-up which allows us the level of control which is needed for follow and improves stability as the mass is sat extremely low in the cart. We would recommend using it as a remote trolley first with the added benefit of Follow. On a downslope, the Q will automatically brake to keep its distance however if wet there is a chance of traction loss. Stick to follow on the (relatively) flat and uphill sections then take in the views, and walk handsfree. We hope this helps! Any questions, always feel free to get in touch. SG Team.

I have. Golfted remote control one. It is such a light trolley for older golfers. The only drawback is my remote which disconnects. Maybe you could have a look

Great and useful review thanks. I’ve actually got a 17yr old Powakaddy remote controlled trolley, it was / is called a Robokaddy which they stopped making some time ago, so it’s interesting that they’ve re entered the remote controlled market. I need to replace mine as they’ve stopped making spares for mine so I feel a bit vulnerable. I’ve already had to cobble together some repairs this year, but if a motor goes that’s the end of my trolley. I’ve been looking at the Stewart Golf trolleys, so a review of one of their trolleys would be very useful, thanks.

I had the Powakaddy and hated it. Found the same problems as you did: too short back wheel, temperamental software and very fiddly remote. I have sold it and am probably going to go with the Motocaddy.

I have a MC M7. Feature-wise it’s pretty good. Has lots of power, is stable and climbs hills well with the stability wheel. It doesn’t go very straight even on flat surfaces. Oddly, it can veer either direction. My main problem is service. The circuit board failed so the unit is unusable. Motocaddy service is slow. They don’t respond to calls and take multiple days between emails. I still don’t know if they are going to send me a circuit board with instructions or if I’m going to have to send the trolley in. It could be months before it’s fixed. If I had to purchase again, I would go with an MGI as I know many owners who are 100% satisfied.

I don’t think it does. I had a look at it but didn’t think it was worth including as it seems a bit of a pointless feature if you are controlling the trolley from anywhere anyway. Can’t think of a time where I would actually use that instead of using the remote
