Yes, I agree with everyone... this worked amazingly well. My computer, Brand new I was getting 100 - 120 FPS, then after 2 years I could not get it past 60. My game play was seriously effected and not enjoyable. I followed this basically step by step and now my game is running at 120-130 again. THANK YOU!!! I can enjoy rust again!!!

im playing on 4090 24 GB and ryzen 9 have no fps issues since im getting 200+ fps on max settings in full servers but i am more interesting in the pvp settings especially the stretch res after playing cs for over 10 years being used to play on stretch res.

You can try maxing out gpu-heavy settings, Rust is a weird game and sometimes higher quality settings increase fps somehow.

So for the first minute or so I have 60fps when first waking up and then all of a sudden I drop to 20-30 fps for the rest of gameplay until I shut off my computer and restart. Then it repeats.

Let me preface by saying I love your content, you're knowledgeable with rust. PC optimization, not so much. Enabling ultra low latency mode with Game that has reflex is 100% useless as Reflex overrides ULLM per Nvidia. And setting it to "prefer maximum performance" globally is pointless for two reasons. 1. Reflex+Boost already does this. 2. It wastes a lot of power when you don't need to and creates extra heat REDUCING performance if you then go into rust. In general this video is full of placebo fixes. I don't want to type it all out. Tuning your rams primary, secondary, and tertiary timings is the only real way to get considerable performance gains in rust. And that's not easy for the average joe

I used to play hella rust got few k hours i have come back and f me in the ass was my shhhht messed up i was only pulling low 10 fps high 130 fps i was un able to hold a stable fps i had major issues game was unplayable i have yet to test out in pvp but so far in pulling 120 fps stable i did do other things that arw not in this video that im sure has help but over all the changesbi did make definitely gave me an improvement in fps overall, i would recommend using unknown over potato, unknown is the old potato and this potato in the old low

I was victimized by a windows update, a steam update, and Discord update that totally screwed my settings. I was getting 23fps on my own local server! HARWARE ACCELERATION! Turn it off! It was turned on and it killed my fps and caused 100% gpu usage. Also, steam deleted my startup options for RUST which caused issues as well. This 2 things made the biggest difference. It was a terrible day before I figured it out.

100% gpu usage is good, means it puts in the work, only on something like a 4090 you might not get 100% usage in Rust. Hardware acceleration off means Discord is now drawn on your cpu, instead of a gpu and we all know that Rust is extensively cpu-heavy. Turning hardware acceleration off might only help if you have an insanely powerful cpu and a horrible gpu for whatever reason. Otherwise it has to be on. Don't spread misinformation.

You need to set Ambient Occlusion to off, as this does in some instances reduce performance. Lens dirt and vignetting just cover your screen, so you can turn these off, too. Also, you can set Shader level to between 300-500 for quite a nice boost in places with lots of buildings. It helps tonnes. You can also use DLSS for a bit of a boost and nicer image quality, but it can cause stuttering when the garbage collection hasn't done its job properly. i.e. When building lots of different walls, ceilings, floors in your base it can suddenly start lagging. Having a shortcut for garbage collection is a must for pr0 gamers so you can go into a dangerous situation in full knowledge you've cleared the garbage and it won't suddenly slow down fps without your knowledge.

Wow, the first time I've seen anyone else talk about the DLSS/TSAA bug. I personally run off or SMAA. Looks great at 1440p. Also, if you have a 240hz+ monitor Lossless Scaling's LSFG is perfect for this game.

People like clean non aliased images. And DLAA looks great People who hate TAA are usually biased by subs like r/FuckTAA which are a circle jerk

it's basically a temp cache that the game periodically collects and deletes while you play. GC=garbage collection

To Avoid Crashes do not put Rust to -high ... rust will take a ton of resources from your pc in awhile it will be overloaded that the windows itself will be forced to make the game Crash because Rust took all the resources from a functioning system

@@ChaseHub ctt tool to debloat windows to lower and free up cpu usage for rust. in process lasso, dont set rust to high priority because it won't work, instead put almost all processes on low/idle priority, set rust priority to high via the steam launch options or look up a guide on how to set eazyanticheat games to high priority also if you have 8 cores or more (not core+threads) disable cpu 0 for rust, you must disable cpu 0 for the steamclient.exe for it to work because you dont get access to changing priorities or cpu affinity for rust. also when setting processes to low priority make sure you are able to change them in the first place because to some processes you dont have access. i might make a guide for it one day but i am lazy af and its funny for me to see all these meaningless "rust optimization/fps boost" guides that do almost nothing

This absolutely sucks f$&king ruined my computer been trouble shooting and working to fix my game for 4 hrs, not at all helpful and for anyone else trying to take a risk on this just change graphics in game all content creators and ppl who no life game mainly use in game graphics only
