Why do a tuna comparison while showing no tunas ?

I have owned the Steel Dive blue faced metal bracelet version for couple of months and am super impressed by it's quality for the price. The bracelet on mine is superb, no complaints !! I also own a couple of Seiko Tunas as well. The Steel Dives seem to be almost as good, but obviously "time" will tell whether they hold up as well. Great reviews, cheers.

I saw Heimdaller are releasing a homage to the Samuarai Dawn Grey. I understand why because its pretty coveted and hard to get hold of at a reasonable price! I may get one in to compare to my Seiko!

Great video idea! Here's another for the future: a comprehensive list of some of the more interesting high-beat movement watches on Aliexpress. As feedback: i'd have liked a more in-depth comparison of the watches. Like weight, finish, bezel action, crown screw feel, etc. But i guess you don't have them all.

If quartz isn't an issue, the £24 Megalith 8605M "canned tuna" is a superb entry level "tuna" homage, I opted for the hulk variant and was actually quite surprised although it is more a cosmetic homage at 3ATM water resistance. I've been dipping into Megalith's as they do favour canteen crowns a lot in their designs and do seem to be of a slightly better quality than their competition at that price bracket. The other reason I have been looking at Megalith is the name itself, it just doesn't suck like so many weird names you see on Aliexpress e.g. Age Girl O.o I mean to us Brits that sounds a bit suspect imho lol

I like the Steeldive watches for construction and price.I've just taken delivery of their pilot watch (with a small customs fee) and am very happy with it.The "Willard" is my favorite and considering that there is more CNC programming to achieve that shape,very good value for money.In your quest for more waches to review you migh take a look at Perpetual watches for more classical and dressy watches.I have the SC03 and I'm very impressed with it........................................

Thanks for the video. You talked me out of a San Martin, but now is that Proxima on my list. And it has a dolphin on the caseback, superior to all the other that offer just a fish. I dislike it too if there a too many choices and combination. It is like the cat food aisle in the supermarket, I don't know what buy.

Heimdallr - only 200m, a shame for such a huge piece Proxima - dial to busy Steeldive - wow! That insert is cool, but shitty clasp San martin - clasp is good, bezel is boring ☝️Just my opinion, but I would love a batter clasp on the Steeldive!

Don’t get the steel dive, they put on a horrible reflective coating on the glass which makes the dial a weird colour

RDunae rectangular emperor tuna watch

I love the Tuna possibly my favourite dive watch. Had a Steeldive but the over done blue AR coating and lumed bezel didn't do anything for me. Changed the bezel insert for a regular one which helped but it is bargain basement territory. I really liked the San Martin, with traditional black dial with day date complication, and regret not getting one, can't find them anymore. They do a Spring Drive homage now with the dial and handset from Seiko's Spring Drive Tuna, very nice and outstanding legibility. Nice double dome sapphire crystal without intrusive AR coating. Still fitted with the NH36 so if you can find an original dial, ripe for a dial and handset change. For something a bit different how about Seiko's SNE 497, rather ugly as is with Seiko's typically awful bracelet and clasp but replace the plastic shroud for a stainless steel one and put it on a decent Strapcode bracelet maybe with a stainless steel bezel insert and you've got a decent looking Tuna with a genuine Seiko pedigree and the practicality of a Quartz solar powered movement. Sure the bezel action won't be a patch on the San Martin but if you can pick the SNE 497 up cheap enough it's still going to be a grand cheaper than the Prospect full steel and will have a very similar look. Proxima do have a lot of variety, and generally I think they're as good quality as San Martin plus you can have a better movement, either a PT5000 or SW200. Thanks for posting back in the day!
