I think they turned out pretty but I think I was looking forward to more of a filing video for the natural nails instead of cutting them and extending the length, I hope I can see one in the future!😊

Wow, when you started I thought the short wide nails looked absolutely hopeless. I myself don't want pointy ballerina nails, but hers turned out so amazingly beautiful. You are so talented and generous with your knowledge. It is from you that I learned to do my own nails. Thanks so much. ❤️❤️❤️

I didn’t pinch them on purpose , as with this nail shape , if they will be too slim right under the free edge , they will look a little unbalanced. I wanted to add sidewalls and then try to make them more narrow , I hope my explanation makes sense 😄

@@Nailcou I have a question is pinching something that is done a lot in Russia? I have never seen pinching here at least not in my state at nail salons? The times I’ve seen it done on KZfaq. It looks painful and why do people pinch?

@deborahware8102 it should never be painful. If it is, the tech is doing it wrong. Pinching is done to get a tighter C curve which makes the nails look slimmer and the tighter the c curve, the stronger the nail (usually).

This is brilliant, Anastasia! My nail beds are exactly like this, very wide but short, and I've never seen a video with a model who has my nail shape. You're exactly right about choosing the shape; the free edge needs to taper in to give the illusion of narrower nail beds. When my nails are short, I prefer square or squoval, but if I do the same shape on longer nails (straight out from the side walls instead of tapered), my fingers look like fat sausages 😂

I always have to have my nails done and perfect. I love doing some intricate designs but I also love simple ones that don't take long to do. This is one of them ❤

Cons: natural nails and artificial nails break easier and it’s harder to find tips to fit, and they usually don’t use the forms so the nail tips lift and break or pop off.

Can you do a video of how the sidewalls and underside of a gel nail extension is supposed to look? Or a deepdive on how to determine the apex placement and height?

Reason is, I just visited my first ever nail tech to get an extension done last week. I was not happy. I'm not a professional but the apexes were all different, and seemed too flat, nails on thumbs and small finger too long and the underside? She put the form on in a way that my natural nail (which she didn't even cut) is now sandwiched between a layer of gel over and under the nail. They couldn't do proper nailart either and said an Ombre with gelcolors is not possible 😂

I love the colors and the marble affect you did. I have wide nails as well and I keep mine short because I use my hands to help me see things so I use a square but it has slightly rounded corners I wish I could post to you a photo here in my comment. I love doing my nails and love going to see my friend Kim who does my Manis and pedi's. I love to watch and learn from you thank you for posting your videos

her nails are shaped like mine, except i have wide nails with long nail beds. I wore almonds for years because I thought oval might make each finger look like a thumb. Clearly that is not the case! Beautiful work as always. i know what i'm doing this weekend ;)

I have wide nails and I do a modified coffin shape, really close to noomer nails, because I don't really like the pointy ones, these look like candy corn and that's not my kind of shape

I have wider nail beds. I don’t think as wide as the middle, but I’m a square with the corners rounded person. I don’t mind coffin, but they look great on her. I can’t get gel tips to last more than a few days. I’m wondering if it’s because I have oily nail beds. Unless I get acrylic I’m doing them every few days. It’s irritating, but what can ya do….

I’ve found that a ballerina shape with a c-curve (any length) is a really good shape for my short, wide nails.

While it’s true the nails are wide, the other issue is a very large hyponychium, which gives the appearance of them being wider than they are. That’s a great outcome for the odds you were up against.

To me it looks that they should be a bit wider on top. The issue aren't her 'wide' nails it's more her shirt nail beds. And this shape doesn't correct that. I would keep the width a bit more and just taper them out at the very end so it gives the illusion of a longer nail bed which make your fingers look longer which decreases the impression of a wide nail more because it's more proportioned to the rest.
