Ready for some hate on these rankings…
These are the best ski mountains in Utah (around Salt Lake City) ranked from worst to best!
After skiing all the major SLC resorts and every ikon and epic resort in Utah, Colorado, California, and Wyoming here’s how I would rank the ski resorts around Salt Lake City, Utah:
7) Powder Mountain
6) Deer Valley
5) Solitude
4) Brighton
3) Park City
2) Snowbasin
1) Snowbird/Alta
Snowbird and Alta are connected so I consider them as one resort, but Alta is for skiers only! No snowboarders allowed!
If you live near Salt Lake City or are looking for an awesome ski and snowboard destination this winter definitely check out Snowbird!
How would you rank these mountains???
Follow for more skiing videos!

It's always empty but the terrain isn't my favorite, there's not enough steep and challenging terrain some of the other places on this list

@@brentdensmore5387 I ski groomers with my family, but I ski mayflower bowl, Ontario bowl, and many others un groomed blacks without them. I think that many other Utah resorts have better expert terrain, but deer valley is enough to keep me happy.

@danb.709
@danb.709 5 ай бұрын
@@curtphillipps7830 Park City and Deer Valley are on different passes, and going between them is considered ducking rope as far as I know, never tried it. Solitude and Brighton are both on ikon but Brighton has limited number of days and still requires reservations, Additionally the SolBright trail is far from quick and not all that practical, on a pow day it can be a real slog. The joint day pass also costs more, so not ideal. Going between Alta and Snowbird is easy and practical, but uses 2 ikon days. It also costs more for a joint day pass, or the joint season pass, the Altabird season pass is over 3 grand. Neither Alta or Deer Valley allow snowboarding, so that's another hurtle if anyone in the group snowboards. SIde note it kinda makes sense at Alta, it would require lots of walking across flat areas and traverses, Deer Valley it's a status thing without good reason. Regardless all these places are plenty big for multiple days on thier own, going between them isn't often quick or easy, just do them on separate days the upcharge isn't worth it. On another note, all these places have individual character and history that shouldn't be lost to time because they are now all on one pass and tourists love the marketing of bigger is better, they deserve to be thought of individuals.

@@joeythenomad You named all the ones worth going to. There is Sundance up Provo Canyon and then there’s Brian head in southern Utah. There are a few other mountains that are technically resorts but not worth putting on any list. The only other one I can think of is may be beaver canyon way up north. Those are the only three I can think of. Great list by the way. Pretty much dead on
