If the peter Thomas Roth product contains carbomer that's what you're feeling roll up into little balls(skin). Carbomer reacts with the oils in our skin ands ends up turning into those little balls.

The dermalogica SPF is 100% chemical filters. If you have pigmentation concerns or are serious about protecting your skin from signs of aging and melasma you need mineral blockers in your SPF. Specifically zinc oxide at 6% or higher.

Tara, I feel your experience so much. My melasma mask showed up when I hit my mid teens (from the pill) and living in Australia (the land 1/2 an inch from the sun) and being a water sports babe, it is a constant battle! So many of us are totally with you!!! P.S I just love how it likes to show up like a goatee or make you look like a line backer! Stupid random overactive melanin cells!

So glad you’re back! I hadn’t seen your videos pop up in a while and I thought that’s maybe KZfaq unsubscribed me. I’m also glad you’re feeling better! You’re right about that Tatcha Indigo Overnight cream - I got that during the Sephora sale based on your recommendation and then picked up a second one before the sale ended because I don’t want to be without! I’m going to look into the Dermatologica sunscreen you recommended but I may not be able to use it if it’s a chemical sunscreen - some of them cause burning or itching on my skin. It would be nice to find one that I can use that’s not a physical sunscreen. Physicals tend to be more drying, and my skin is already like the Sahara…

Thanks for sharing! ❤️ I have my eye on the Dr. Dennis face mask. I’m definitely going to try the eye patches and the dermalogica eye cream. My fav eye cream (DDF eye erase gel) was discontinued and haven’t been able to find one with niacinamide that works as well. Hoping the eye patches will help. And also looking for a retinol eye cream that isn’t irritating. My favorite skin care item has been the Amore Pacific treatment enzyme peel powder. It’s gentle but effective at removing dead skin. ❤️❤️

I’ve had the worst cold/flu and I’m finally feeling better and I have a lot of catching up to do! You got me OBSESSED with the Bay Harbor body lotion! I have 3 different scents. It’s so amazing for the body! I love a lot of skincare products by SkinCuticals!!! I use their Retin-A and it’s a must have product for me! I’ve been using it for almost a year now. My dermatologist sells their products and my skin loves their products! I love their LHA face cleanser, their emollient moisturizer, the LH toner and OMG their eye cream is AH-MAZING! It’s pricey but it lasts so long! I would rather splurge on great skincare than makeup because if your skin looks good and you feel good then the makeup looks so much better! I’ve been wanting that Dr. Dennis Gross facial device SO BAD but it’s so pricey!! I’m so happy you are feeling better Tara! Now I get to binge watch your videos from bed ☺️💗

The PTR does break up the dead keratin in the skin, but the formula balls up on itself as soon as it comes in contact with oils in ur skin. Lab Muffin Science did a whole experiment on this. So those little balls are not completely dead skin, but the actual formula. Don’t get me wrong, it will leave u smoother 💯. Also I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to exfoliate the retinonized skin, I think ur meant to leave it alone otherwise u could just extend the peeling cycle. In either case, the PTR is a good product and works on calluses too!

If the retinol is too strong, don't put it aside to use later, it will most definitely go rancid. Just mix half the amount you would normally use into your moisturiser (or similar). It will be diluted enough, be extremely effective and you won't have wasted your money 😉 Because you mentioned enzyme exfoliation, I had to tell you about the Endless Youth Magic Beads by Mirenesse - it's an enzyme exfoliating cleanser, and it's remarkable. Also the brand Le Mieux has incredible skincare products. The EGF is very best I have tried (I've tried many). It's so, so very good to have you back, boy have I missed you ❤ Love you loads and loads and loads more ❄🎅☃️💗💗💗☃️🎅❄💗💗💗❄🎅☃️

That 1.0 Skinceuticals retinol is exactly the same as tretinoin on me; you’ll get the same peeling and can get irritation if you go too hard to fast!Highly recommend.

I love hearing what's out there 🤍. There is an eye serum I wish you would try, it's by far the best & most effective. It's by Dr Lili Fan (an eye surgeon). Like no other it has MAP vitamin C which works as an anti inflammatory & depuffs the eyes (wonders for my lids!). You feel it working immediately!! It's my #1 skincare find for over 4 years now. ☺️💞 Xo I'm glad you're better & happy you share so openly ❤️. I don't know why I always think you're in TN?! 🙄

SC Retinol is awesome but for OTC it is strong. I use .5 Tretinoin but bought the 1.0 SC Retinol to alternate. I never peal with the tretinoin but I do when I use the SC 1.0 Retinol. Not every time but definitely works. I’ve tried many other OTC retinol (Obagi, Skinmedica etc) and none of those seemed todo anything even ones with retinaldehyde which is supposed to be closer to tretinoin. Love Dermstoew too but shop more at Lovelyskin - a lot more sales and also earn rewards!

My favorite skincare products are: AHA/BHA face wash from Murad (light physical and chemical exfoliation) and vitamin C day cream with SPF from Murad, it’s beautiful underneath makeup and basically two products in one. Both my holy grails.

So happy you are back! Can’t wait for your up coming videos. I had terrible cystic acne in my early 20s. Painful, constant acne that left me with hyperpigmentation and scars. My derm put me on Accutane which, no exaggeration, cured my acne. After the Accutane, my derm put me on prescription tretinoin, as a follow up to help with scarring and keep any residual acne in check. I have been using prescription tretinoin for nearly 20 years. At this point, I use the highest concentration. Definitely a product your skin needs to get used to but it’s a miracle, fountain of youth product. At 46, my wrinkles are faint. Just the finest lines around my eyes and forehead. I am routinely mistaken to be 7-8 years younger. The retin-a is absolutely the cornerstone to my skin care routine and the one and only product that I see actual results with. I am absolutely certain that the reason I have never felt the need to do botox is because of the nearly 20 years of tretinoin use. The downside is prescription retin-a is expensive, even with health insurance (if it’s covered). Can be upwards of $200 for a tube. Although one tube can last me nearly a year. There are many only options to purchase legitimate prescription retin-a and anytime I’m in Mexico or Canada, I always purchase a tube for around $25.

@@noodlep2547 4 times a week. My skin is used to it. I will still flake on occasion, but it’s not bad. I’ll do 2 nights in a row, then skip 1 or 2 days then do another 2 nights in a row.

OMG!! I love my Dr. Gross face mask!!!! I didn’t want to bite the bullet but I did and I’m not looking back either!!! I also have the eye mask, which I use in the am. I LOVED the Obagi nu-derm line and it made the biggest difference in my skin. However, I’ve been less interested since they removed it from the line. I actually use the Obagi retin-a instead of retinol, which works great for me. I use retin-a a few days per week and a retinol from other lines(I’m not loyal to retinol products). The Obagi Vitamin c is amazing!!! How do you incorporate your other products in to your routine with Obagi?😘😘😘😘

Tara, great recommendations. I have a few I would love to try. Have you tried Colorscience 50 spf? It’s mineral sunscreen and it melts into the skin and leaves no cast absolutely whatsoever. I tried this after watching Dr.Dray recommend it. Dermstore has 30% on it during Black Friday sale, just a suggestion if you want to try you may pick it up next year 😊

At the Sephora Savings Event I purchased the Dr. Dennis Gross Retinol Serum for face and eyes. It’s only been a few weeks so I haven’t seen much improvement but I am hopeful. The reviews are great on these products. Hoping they work for me.

If you liked refissa you might like Altreno. It is a retinoid in a moisturizing base, so it's very gentle. Ask your derm about it.

Fantastic video, with tons of awesome suggestions. I've been wanting an LED mask for such a long time. It's just not something I can afford at this time. I just started prescription retinol about a week and a half ago, and I'm using it two times a week. So far so good. I went and bought the Cos RX snail mucin moisturizer, and I think that's really helping things.❤❤

Tara! May I suggest you just ask your dermatologist for Tretinoin. It's the gold standard and you can start at the lowest strength and move up. Retinol is for those who can't use the real thing. Just a loving suggestion. It's also very inexpensive with your insurance. Love your channel!

Renee exactly Retinol is mild. Retinaldyhyde is stronger. Then you get into the prescription tret. I'm at .1 and I alternate with a Retinaldyhyde and use a 10 and a 20 % glycolic I also do TCA peels at home and microneedling I've learned from The Skincare Forum on FB. Skin biology basically

Hi Tara! I'm curious why your dermatologist isn't prescribing Retin-A(Tretinoin) cream for you? I've been on it for over 30yrs with no ill affects.It's less expensive and more affective .

She has, but I had a reaction to it the first time I used it and I haven't wanted to try it again😁 You're right, it's a great product, I just don't dare use it again... Tara- question about your obagi regimen . Are you using every single day or taking some days off? I feel like it starts to dry my face out even tho I’m piling on the tatcha or the obagi thick cream and it doesn’t help too much. Please let me know your thoughts Note I’m a member of dear brightly so I get my tretinoin from them monthly. I use it 3x a week mixed with the obagi blender

I recommend using a Retinol cream with it. I mix it with the Blender at night. Add it a few nights a week. It's amazing and I also am using the Skinceuticals retinol i discussed in this video and WOW. It's amazing. I would get the lowest strength if you haven't used retinol. It's fantastic 👏👏 Also, here is a video I filmed when i Repurchased the Obagi Nuderm.
