A6000 and A6600 - for the type of videos I make (cooking, close ups, a lot of smoke and steam) manual focus works best. I've used the touch tracking a couple of times too and it works great and when using it on people then the eye af won't fail! Too bad I didn't realize it during my first videos 😅

You just my friend, solved my months of struggle shooting myself. I bought a6400 and have been struggling to get sharp videos as either videos weren’t sharp enough or I just won’t be in focus at all. Not anymore.

I am a solo creator and am expecting this camera in later today! *excited is not the word* My community on twitch helped me to get the camerra and I've been doing research in preparation of getting this camera for months! I'm glad I was able to come across your video I've been doing a lot of reading where some people are complaining about the focus on this camera bouncing in and out when they are recording sooo I'm hoping this will remedy that, so that I can learn from and not repeat their same mistakes!! Yep solo guy here with a6600, After years of big DSLR's its nice to have a lightweight camera and it outperforms my old DSLR. ps might want to check that "face tacking" banner 😉

An, this was great. My a7c all of a sudden was focus hunting and wasn’t sure why. The tracking setting was turned off. I had it on before so not sure if an update messed that up. Thank you.

Thank you for the video! if I may, I have one rather specific question- I want to buy this camera to film myself indoor climbing (bouldering). I assume this camera is able to track me if my back is facing the camera, but would the background become blurry in return? Will I be able to see the holds and the route I am climbing if all the focus will be on me?

Could you do a video for canon G7x ii camera as it’s so popular. I need to know best settings for vlogging because when you do auto track the auto focus leaves a noise in post from where the camera is hunting. If I keep it on afl that stops the noise but might be better for a sit down video setting Also for sit down videos I find it leaves a white noise in my videos that sounds super annoying.
