Thank you!! I just got the Sony a6600 to film yoga / fitness classes and to start shooting video for KZfaq. I purchased the kit that came with an 18-135mm lens, but need something a little wider to shoot in a smaller room. I'm looking at the Sigma 16mm F/1.4. Glad to hear you recommend it!!

For overhead shots I use the Sony 20mm f2.8. Lets in more light, has a decent wide angle, and it has better image quality over the 16-50 kit lens. If I need to zoom, I just do it in post since I film in 2160p and render at 1080p. I also use the Sigma 16mm f1.4 for talking head, excellent lens for the money. I'm also using the 30mm version for b-roll. I also make use of the Sony 50mm f1.8 for b-roll as well. I'm considering getting the 25mm version of that for some handheld work since it has stabilization. I'm also considering getting the Sony 20mm f1.8 to replace the f2.8 version I have for some better image quality and more light, but it is a tad expensive at about four times the cost. I'd honestly suggest the entire Sigma f1.4 lens lineup. Excellent lenses for the money.

The Sony 16mm takes a while hunting for focus when shooting on eye focus on my a6600. For some shooting that won’t matter, but be aware of the limitation!

Great video. Mostly I'm using the sony 35f1.8 lens. Its quite flexible for changing between portrait shots and video. I got the nice blurry background and its does a great job in low light conditions. Because of its similar size to the kit lens it also work fine with my gimbal (g6 max) and also with the underwater housing. Unfortunately it could have some wider angle sometimes, therefor I switch to the pancake 16f2.8. Just the switching sucks a bit, especially in stressful situations.

I have the 18-105 sony on my A6400 and it is beautiful! I was looking for something wider and bought a used 16-50mm lens off FB marketplace but actually, I am disappointed with it quality-wise and to me the OSS doesn't help much, maybe I should have purchased the 16mm F2.8 or save (I am retired) for the sigma 16mm.

I got the Sony 50mm f1.8 lens, along with the a6100. & it's just right! Great bokeh. Amazing sharpness and plenty wide as well. & the best part? It's about $200!!! For me personally, it's the best decision that I made at the time. Especially for someone who mostly focuses on shooting videos & can't be asked to carry more than one lens, I highly recommend it

Sigma 16mm just ordered it, I'm on the Sony a6500/a6600 facebook page and a lot of people like it. If you really want a cheap lens on eBay the Sony FE 3.5 -5.6 28-70 is selling for less than 100.00 bucks I got one for 50 bucks. Not really intend on using much since my 18-135 covers that and more but for a back up lens 👍😉 its about same size as my 18-135 I had the 18-105 f4 a few years ago sold it with my a6000 and its a great lens.

I have a iPhone 13Pro & a AVerMedia PW 315 Webcam for my fully upgraded MacBook Pro Mid 2012 MacOS Catalina with the Samsung T7 1TB external SSD for my home studio and after watching a few videos on the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E (402965) & the Sony ZV-E10 I realized that I only got one time to make a decent impression next month on KZfaq so I know exactly what gifts that I will treat my self for Christmas

I purchased Sony A6400 camera with kit lens 16-50. This is my first DSLR camera. The problem is that I cannot set custom button for zooming on my Sony A6400. Whenever I set the custom button for zoom, I get message invalid with this lens. The shop salesman says this lens is not compatible. Can you clarify as I see you are using kit lens 16-50 mm lens

i use the sigma 16mm f1.8, 16-50 sony, SAMYANG 8mm f2.8, venus optics laowa 25mm f2.8 for macro and sigma 150-600 , my lenses might make me sound like i have a few hundred thousand subscribers but i dont... i just follow sean's channels and started my channel a little while ago but i like cameras and lenses so i just bought a ton of them slowly and gradually....

Depends on your lenses, look at your lenses and get the filter that fits your biggest lens. Than you can use step up rings for the smaller lenses.

Im using 16-50mm kit lense and i hate it! Even in good lighting i can see those noises all over my photos , the spot that you're focusing on not going to be that sharp . I used to shoot on my canon 750d with 18-55kit lense and The photos i used to take were waaaaaaaaaay better than the One i was shooting on Sonya6600 16-50mm.

yep, it's probably the worst, softest lens a manufacturer can make as kit lens, the fact that he said "it's a great sharp lens" really take the credibility of the video away.

Same mount - so technically yes! You can set A7 series models to APS-C mode and use the center of the sensor. You will get the normal crop-factor. If anybody invests in a A7r3 that is 2 steps back. Get a M42 mount adapter and check the huge amount of old M42 lenses out there if you don't want to invest too much in lenses.

No, but the sigma 16mm 1.4 has the same lens made for the Canon M50. You want to make sure the lens you get is for Canon EF-M. That is the mount for your camera!

@@curtisleslie112 sigma 16/1.4 doesnt hve oss but sony 6600 alrdy hve ibis. So i guess that the stabilization should b fine. :) or else u can use wrap stabilizer in premiere pro.
