I was out riding one day many years ago, and while stopped at a light, I heard a small block V8 with open headers coming up behind me at waaaay too high a speed. Nervously looking in my mirrors, I was amazed to discover it was a Ducati Paso with Termignonies. I will forever remember that flip flop my brain did between what I heard versus what I then saw, lol. That aside, I think my personal all time favourite is split between a 1978-'80 CBX1000 with 6 into six pipes, and an RC51 with a Sato Carbon Fibre Banzai system. Tell Paul his VFR800 sounds absolutely glorious!

Right on! The CBX sounds amazing, as does the RC51. I remember the first time I heard an RC51. I was waiting at a light, and it came over a hill and up to the light opposite me. It had Jardine exhaust and sounded so serious. It truly was a racebike with lights. Cheers

@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 surprising how many deals are out there for low mileage used, VFRs. I've found many 2014/5 models for less than $5-6g's.

I'm pretty tall and going to be selling my Suzuki boulevard's and want something my tall self can fit on. I saw the vfr was a recommendation. I love the sound. It also has a similar whine that my 83 nighthawk 650 has. Those roads remind me of home, driving through the farm areas of northeast Ohio. Live in Florida but gloomy skies and open fields make me happy. Thanks for the video.

My 1200 Vmax with Supertrapp exhaust has always had a wonderful sound, growling low and screaming high. Cheers

That GS1100GL with a pipe sounded good as well! I think this Honda has a refined thumper-esque sound.

I have owned 3 1100 cc , Honda V-4 motorcycles, but not a VFR. 5 years ago i had the chance to ride a VFR 800, and i was quite surprised at the power. Not only the H.P., but the torque was very strong, and that bike made power very quickly !

Right on! I was surprised by how quickly this one built revs, even from low rpm. In combination with confidence inspiring handling, the VFR can be ridden very quickly with ease. Cheers!

It does sound great. For me it’s a Ducati 900ss from the 90’s is the best sounding with pipes. I’ve never owned one but maybe someday

That's another great sounding bike. I love the V-twin sound at low rpm and in town. But as the revs rise, the fours get my vote. Cheers!

Nice! The crossplane engines from Yamaha come to mind. Honda is always far ahead of their time.

Yep, the cross-plane Yamaha 4-cylinders sound similar to this V-4. Great sounding machines all!

Always loved the sound of these V-fours. Unfortunately for me the riding position and my aging body are no longer compatible.

its hard not to love a v4, untill you have to R&R the carbs.a royal P.I.A. but worth the effort when the throttle is opened.quite snappy from 4 to 10k rpms.

Right on! Carb cleaning, valve adjustments, etc, are complicated by the V-4 engine configuration. Cheers!
