Love the turbo whistle, however, that system will drone and have a ton of rasp, ask me how I know. The only way to help this is to keep the factory resonator

Rob R wrong way to do it. If you want the 6 to sound more like an 8, get my setup. Just talked to my buddy that got my setup and he can’t be happier. She sounds like a true raptor. Not to mention that Hot turbo whistle.

So far I’ve put on Nexen MTX’s for my tires for intimidation (not that it’s needed 🙈) and a 50-cal bullet antenna, and a banner on my windshield that says, “Toddzilla” and lastly Rigid 3-cube fog light system on both sides. I was just thinking about beefing up my exhaust when I came across your cool truck. Thanks again, bud. Made my day. Team Raptor! Hehehe 😜

@@lostinthepnw6317 couldn't agree more brother. I smash on Gen1 V8s with supervhargers. Now, let them go get taken for a ride and buy an R, if they are dumb enough. $120k MSRP with a guaranteed $30k markup (if not $50k)

@@my2017raptorhardtail I was just having that conversation of why buy the R sure the V8 blah blah blah 700hp ya right on. Well truth be told fuel isn’t going to get cheaper anytime soon I already drive like a dickhead let alone to put me behind something that gets even shittier mileage. Then if you run the numbers putting the 3.0 suspension all the way around and buying a brand new crate 3.5 and fully building it so when I blow the current one up in all actuality is cheaper than buying the new R the dreaded wait time on the R. Not too mention putting the amount of money I have into the upgrades on the new R… is still cheaper to completely rebuild current and have a crate motor getting bulit… not too mention who knows it’s a 3rd gen raptor ya, but the 1st gen 5.2 set up in a pick up. Might have some kinks to work out. Might not, either way I’ll wait until they’ve been around the block awhile

How does it sound in the cab? I have a toddler and would love to have this sound but quiet in the cab when i need it unless I step on it!

You couldn't have said it better. She is VERY quiet unless you want her to be loud. If you drive calm, still sounds great, but not loud at all. That's actually what I love about it.

Not loud at all. I have a newborn and a 2 1/2 year old. No issues. It's only loud when you get on it.

From the exhaust? That spool really got loud with the SPD downpipes. Intake just helps with flow, but probably helps that too.

Adding an open CAI helps hear the spool a smidgen depending on which one you buy.

Not sure yet, but should not have issues. My smog is not for another 3 years. Just contact SPD and talk to Jacob. He'll fill you in on the good details.

My2017Raptor but, if you're in CA like I am, the smog might be a problem. It won't pass the sniffer. I spoke with the guys at SPD and was told that the catted downpipes would not be kosher for CA smog...you haven't run into any issues yet?!? Dope truck, man!

@@imdiesel777 I have not run into any issues yet because I have not needed a smog. However, they don't stick anything in our exhausts anymore. So maybe it will work.

@@Gynan thanks man. And no ball busting. I 100% agree. V8 and up all sound duhrrty! If the twin turbo 6 didn't have the torque to get up and go, i'd hate it. This thing is so great because of how much lighter the 6 is. Truck genuinely drives like a sports car. So nimble. I love it.
