Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!

At your vdo time 1.4 min there you saw Pilkhana is a para-military cantonment in Dhaka. It is the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh, located to the south of Dhanmondi in Dhaka of Bangladesh. Although that is a office but there is statue of Elephants cos During the 16th century AD, in the period of the Mughal Empire, Pilkhana was a jungle place and was used as the grazing area for the royal elephants, its stable housing no less than 300 elephants. You will get all information about that in online..

Thanks for visiting our beautiful country. So happy to seeing an US guy testing our local foods and enjoying local cultures. But actually what I was feeling that you have not yet visited the best street food areas and also not eaten the best foods except the star cabab. Actually the guy with you is not looking much foodie so he doesn't have much idea about the food areas. If you could visit the old town Dhaka area, locally called "Puran Dhaka'' you could find the actual test of Bangladeshi foods. Some most famous restaurant name is Sultan's Dine (for best biriyani), Peshwarain (for best nihari, nolli), Beauty Lacci (for best Lacci), Puran Dhakar famous Bakarkhani, Haji Biriyani (for traditional beef Tehari), Nanna Biriyani, Fire Paan etc.

Dear Myer, I regret to say that the person with you seemed unfamiliar with the culture, history, and monuments of Dhaka. The location you visited, Pilkhana, is where you noticed sculptures of elephants. During the 16th century AD, in the era of the Mughal Empire, Pilkhana served as a jungle area used as a grazing spot for the Royal Elephants.

This dish @ 7.24min is not Bangladeshi. It is an Indian (West Bengali) imported recipe. In Bangladesh, adding yoghurt to snacks or meals was never the tradition, nor is it currently practiced in homes of any original Bangladeshi. Lots of West Bengali (Hindus) entered the country after the Current (Secular , Non-Muslim) government took control without elections.

it's a lie. If what you said is true then why does my parents use yogurt in some snacks. Not all the time but sometimes when yogurt is present at home. Anyway I haven't watched the video yet. So maybe I could be misunderstood about what you said.

I suspect beef is not prevalent because it’s red meat. Bangladesh is a humid and hot country most times of the year. Fish is much more desirable and perhaps easier on the tummy. Furthermore, it’s got plenty of fish (good quality) to be had! Personally, I prefer fish myself and have given up on red meat and my health has improved significantly!

True our people love fish. We have a saying “macche bhate bangali “ meaning bangali people are of fish-rice. But they are mostly available during lunch and dinner. They aren’t the the best street food options because of the complexity of keeping them fresh and also the smell is a factor. But all sorts of fish and rice are available from road side hotels like the kabab shop to bigger establishments too.
