Best Street Middle Eastern Food in New Jersey - Delicious Mamoun’s Falafel and Chicken & Beef Gyro Combo Platters at The Halal Guys
Dear Friends!
Today we are having one of the best casual Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food in New Jersey. We are going to explore 2 casual dining “street-style” food spots which offer Middle Eastern street food similar to the one you will have on the streets of Egypt or Lebanon.
1) We are visiting a local Middle Eastern casual spot - Mamoun’s Falafel - located in 58 EASTON AVENUE, NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ, 08901. The first location opened in the heart of Greenwich Village in New York City. Mamoun’s Falafel has been serving high quality Middle Eastern Food since it first opened its doors to the public in 1971. It is the oldest falafel restaurant in New York and one of the first Middle Eastern establishments in the United States. Now Mamoun’s has several locations in NY, NJ, PA and CT. We ordered Falafel sandwich (price - $4.95) and Grape Leaves (price - $3.95). Falafel is grounded chickpea mix with onions, parsley, garlic & spices and served deep fried. Grape Leaves were stuffed with rice and herbs.
2) Our second casual spot is The Halal Guys (37 Easton Ave, New Brunswick, NJ 08901).The Halal Guys is a halal fast casual restaurant franchise that began as halal carts in New York City and now have a lot of locations throughout USA and expanding in other countries. We ordered Combo Platter with Chicken and Beef Gyro (price - $9.95).
