A man over 40 has certain responsibilities in this life-and they extend to his wardrobe, as well. The only problem is that they're not always so obvious. Can you wear sandals? (Actually, yes.) What about a deep v-neck tee? (No.) So we've taken the liberty of outlining everything you need to know about dressing your dignified age and always looking your best for any occasion. Try not to wear a white t-shirt by itself unless it's in absolutely pristine condition. (Meaning: cleaned, ironed, and folded.) Otherwise, you risk looking like you just rolled out of bed. Trust us: while this is a really cool look if you're a young drummer in a band, it's not suitable for a dignified older man. working out and watching what you eat combined with good grooming is the basis of style. You can buy all the clothes you want but unless / until you feel good in your own skin it's only going to go so far. I'm no pro at this by any means. Sure staying in shape can be a challenge but it's worth it. Then you can wear most anything and it will "work". I'm like anyone else. It takes time that you don't always have. Then again some people look better when a bit heavy whereas others look better on the lean side.

Believe me, you’re not showcasing the average over 40 guy here - more like over 40 male models! Just how many are those walking down the street? Funny, the men in this video look better than most of the 20 to 30 somethings I encounter on a daily basis (and I’m a 65 year young female)!!!!

The third pic is not age appropriate and the guy looks like a douchbag but the other looks work completely and are good suggestions. I think these guys are all well over forty though. John Mayer and Orlando Bloom and Ryan Gosling and Reynolds are all forty and look more like normal 40 year old guys these days. Maybe these guys in the video are 50 plus but most look great

Some good looks but overall a bit of a random collection of model pics than any coherent theme. The ones in T shirts particularly were just over 40s models in T Shirts. Didn't mean that that was a good look for someone over 40

Femmi?... So wearing clothing that actually fits and looks good is feminine to you? That makes no sense Sir. Men of earlier years used to know how to dress well and nowadays men think they're dressing up by wearing an ill fitting button down shirt that's tucked in poorly, a pair of pleated trousers that is two sizes too big, and square toed "dress shoes" that are scuffed up. Fit is King when dressing well whether it's in a suit or casual wear and attention to detail is noticed by others.

If your super concerned about fashion after 50 years old. This means your either single, no kids, rich, wealthy, gay, Hollywood movie star, a male model, you live in Paris, France, work in a office must wear a suit, successful wall street guy or maybe way to much time on your hands. I can't see the 45-65 year old regular guy out there who's married, works 40 hours a week, makes a regular income and be concerned about his fashion wardrobe. Once you hit 50 you are tired and went through 30 years of fashion change. You would never wear what you wore 30 years ago right? And in 30 years from now you would be laughing at your current fashion. It's gotten very boring trying to keep up. Been there done that. LOW-Testosterone is taking a toll on the joints, sex drive sux and grey hair. 45-70 year olds weight gain is an issue even while on great diet. In other words. Your not hot anymore. Your washed up. Some guys can't deal or accept that. The good old days are long gone dude. Look in the mirror and accept the old guy looking back at you. Look inward instead of what looks good on the outside. Try something different without worrying about your appearance. Do things you never did as a young guy but now you have the time. Read some good books outside. Eat an entire 7-layer chocolate cake. Travel alone. Workout in the gym at 2am. Make some strong Margaritas at 11am on a Tuesday and watch Netflix. When your out in public doing your errands and someone says hi how's your day going sir? Say your hungover and keep walking don't stop. Have a good dangerous dark sense of humor. Who cares what people think about your fashion. It's way more fun doing things you never did before. And for the guys who won't take my advice. Take it easy with the Botox face. These guys look like trannies with makeup.
