@@danzansandeev6033 nah that's bull. That's like saying if all your apples are in one basket they can't also be inside another, bigger basket that contains that. Everybody is in the basket of having a special talent. Everyone is already super. Some people just know what theirs is, and they're in a smaller basket. In fact, we become more super by growing off each other. We feed off each other's abilities and all evolve to new heights and lows. Super isn't binary. It's not even a spectrum. It's discrete packages in an ever connected spiderweb. The more people who are super, the more super everyone else will become. That's how mirror neurons and arms races work.

Though you might not have seen it. Keanu Reeves often publicly acknowledged his stunt man/ body double and the crew who made him look cool. Does that count? Technically not a background actor though. Not in the background but pretending to be the lead. Here, here, Kudos Deadpool. Canada has every right and reason to love Ryan Reynolds back. ❤️❤️❤️ So do plenty all over the world.

I remember reading Milos Forman's (The director of Amadeus and One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest for those that don't know) autobiography....and I think a background actor had not turned up so he decided be one for a scene. It was something simple like walk around...but he said he felt his movements were so awkward and he raised his legs too high as if he didn't know how to walk...everything felt exaggerated and fake. He realised he could never be a background actor as he was too self conscious. It was the most uncomfortable he'd ever been. The scene was shot and everyone went back to what they needed to do. He was not thanked or acknowledged. From that day he understood how important background actors were.

I've done some background acting myself and it is a lot of fun even though you don't get to do all the cool stuff the main actors do. I once spent a long, long day on set, walking back and forth in a room for hours for an episode of a TV show. I was not shown on camera once during the final product. Still worth it for meeting a lot of great people, including quite big actors (in my country, not worldwide). What was cool about that though is that they kind of created this whole narrative for us too. It was party scene and they really paid attention to where everyone was at any time. Like we would start off with ordering drinks and then meeting up with friends and finding a table and having a conversation, going dancing all the way to leaving the party.

@genna19412 жыл бұрын
@@davidbreda8571 Same. I've worked as a full season background in Sweet Magnolias season 1 and 2 and the way I was treated and the relationships I formed during both seasons are significantly different than other background jobs. I genuinely think it was a combination of being a regular so I could form actual relationships and I honestly feel like the writer and director are just genuinely good people. Even the not regular background actors were treated really well on both seasons. Very few of my background jobs would I consider awful though. I can only think of 4 honestly. The rest were ok. Not necessarily great but not bad either. I tell the people that background acting is still a job. While it may be more fun than working something like retail there are still bad days at work just like everybody else. There were a few featured background gigs that I had where I felt like my general experience of how I was treated was better. I'm guessing it's because I was featured which meant my role needed more attention so I got more care and recognition. All in all, I'd rather do background acting than a retail job.

As far as continuing to work, do what is asked on set, don't be difficult, and meet people. Most of my gigs were from recommendations from other bg I worked with. It's also genuinely fun to watch. I went in with sub zero expectations as pretty much every movie that tries to bring games or the gaming sphere to film ends up a stinker. This movie however had an actual good story, Ryan Reynolds TM humor, a great cast and integrated the whole gaming thing into both real and virtual world really well. I'm also glad they didn't even try to make the technical aspect of any of it believable as they'd fail regardless and for non coders, code is boring.
