Another popular place is "Chisolm Creek Park". It is a city park with deer, waterfowl, other wildlife and hiking trails. It is free. "The Great Plains Nature Center" is there also.

Tanganyika Wildlife Reserve is not actually in Wichita, KS. It's in Goddard, KS.

I'm more interested in what people can do that is free and are outdoors. Like hiking and spending time in nature in and around Wichita preferably under an hour away.

Actually....No one in Kansas pronounces the name of the river Arkansaw.... It's pronounced.... Ar... KANSAS! 🌻

Not true, only people around Wichita and Sedgwick County do that. Spent too much time out in western Kansas to know better.

Exactly. Except when talking about the state then we say “Arkansaw”

@@billsmith778 Well Bill, I am a native Kansan that, sadly has not spent much time out in western Kansas...so I will have concede, and amend my statement to.... No Kansan I have ever met pronounces it any other way than Ar- Kansas. 🕊️❤️🌻

@@OnViewCation Hi there 👋Life in Serbia/Europe has it's pros and cons... For example pros we have are much better public transportation, better health insurance, almost no one has a gun, crimes are different (they are non violent), there are no gangs... On the other hand you have much better hiking trails in US (PCT, CDT, AZT)... there are no such things in Europe (at least not on that scale). Much lower gas prices in US...

Negative Ghost Rider, but they do have a giant man made hole in the ground, an 800lb statue of a ground hog, four state owned casinos, KS speedway and the "scenic rolling hills" which is really nothing but some wide open (like the rest of the state) small hills you drive through on your way to KC, Mo. or Denver on the interstate.
