These Trygg Tire Chains are the best tire chains you can get for a tractor in my opinion. I have been on some seriously steep and off-camber terrain with these tire chains over the years and they continue to impress me. I've never slid down any slope ice-covered or not with these highly-studded Trygg Fast Trac tire chains. With a heavy duty design, these tire chains have lived their life outside in a field and have never been inside a building. With nothing more to show then a little bit of surface rust, these things are TOUGH. Today I'm doing the annual task of installing these tire chains in anticipation of some upcoming winter weather. Watch as I take you through the steps I take to install these tire chains without too much trouble. These chains are heavy but my technique allows me to install these without any fancy tools or expertise. I'm a simple man with simple tools and with a little practice, I'm able to get these on relatively quickly in about 30 minutes or so. These can surely be challenging to get on if you don't have much experience but I find that the learning curve is quick and anyone can be installing these quite easily without too much practice. Well folks, better get back to it. Here we go!

Cool to see norwegian chains on the other side of the atlantic. We dont produce many goods here in Norway anymore, but the few we still make are world class.

Another great demonstration video! Thanks again Sandy! Chains can be a pain sometimes but good methods, shown here. I recall you have another video showing a different method that you likely use now. Nice to see the previous way you done these. Really like those chains and I’ll definitely be putting them on the list with my tractor purchase… when ever that maybe.. hopefully sooner rather than later lol. Andrew from NB :)

For easy and tight fit use a rope from one chain connector and through the hole in the rim to the other chain connector with the chains laying behind the tractor like you have. Then drive forward and connect the mid connectors. The weight and drag off the chains makes for a tight fitting chain with less after tightening especially important on bigger tractors with expensive fenders and lights :-)

Just bought a rear mount snow blower and chains were part of the deal. They need some adjusting to fit and they did not have the lever style fasteners on them and I have never touched a set of chains in my life. But thanks to the great filming skills you just displayed...lol...It became crystal clear that I want forged and I now have a clue on how to install them. Thanks Sandy

Judging by the name they appear to be of norwegian origin, given the climate they have in norway i am not surprised by their performance. The name Trygg roughly translates to safe.

Okay for your small rear tires...draping chains on a larger tractor is not a reality...my chains weigh almost as much as me...I hook my chains to the tire and drive forward, until I can connect...connect the inside where they need to be and the outside where it fits with bungee chord to take up the slack...readjusting the outside after use...works every time! Don't have to be Andre the giant to put on chains...

Omg.... I hate putting on my tire chains. Admitting that they do improve traction but still hate it! I try and put them on only when I need them at the last last second. Gone one or two winters without them, loved it. You made it look easy, even though I know it wasn't. Good job! And loved the 70's adult movie sound track, awesome! Great job. Keep up the good work.

You need to buy some lateral/sidewall cross hook spares for your chain and yes, Trygg chain (I have the SMT standard for my 2011 New Holland Boomer 35) make ALL the difference about traction (some winter logging but above all snowblowing 700 meters driveway plus a +/- 1/2 acre total parking space). I have them since 7 years and previous owner said he had them for 3 years and they do not show more than 30% wear as per initial size (no hard surface driving). I do feel kind of unstoppable with those chains. Wish you a good and safe ''blowing'' season ;- D

Chains can transform a vehicle. I had a VW van that was terrible in snow until I put chains on it. It was a real snow machine then. Max speed 35 mph or chains would slap fenders no matter how tight. My grandfather had to put chains on his tractor in the summer after rains because the top soil was thin and sat on caliche so it was very slippery. Land was virtually worthless. He pulled lots of vehicles off the old dirt roads in that area.

@rorschacht8478
@rorschacht8478 2 жыл бұрын
Be careful adding chains to the front. Check what type of 4wd your tractor has, if your manual says to not drive on tarmac with the 4wd engaged then it means the ratio between rear and front axles aren't synchronized/1:1, which will add excessive wear on your tyres and could potentially damage the drivetrain. Those 4wds are designed to slip to some degree, either there is a clutch between the gearbox and your front axle or it's simply designed to slip at the rubber. If that's the case I'd consider adding only 1 chain to the front for steering, or add some less aggressive chains that can slip slightly. Anyway, just something to think about.
