import Luts is on same menu screen as Settings. (swipe. up), and its the big arrow option

@@JustinPhillip the problem was in the way I saved the lut in the usb stick . I figured out the issue and got the lut on to the monitor. Thanks

I‘m just glad I am not the only person who bought this monitor because Justin Phillip said it‘s wireless, just to find out it’s not wireless at all, you need the sdi connected.

use a wireless video transmitter / receiver for that..wireless in this case refers to camera control

You can also buy video isolators so you don't have to disconnect your sdi cables.

Is there anyway to use infrastructure mode? The komodos wifi is nice but not really powerful/stable enough for off camera phones/iPads on actual sets but when you sync up with a router it’s great!

hi there, i'm trying to use the False Color feature on the BM5WR (and not the false color on my BMPCC4K), But the color chart showing the IRE is Not showing up. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Can I use the BM5 WR with my Canon R5 also? In the works on getting a RED KOMODO, but would like to purchase this monitor now until my RED arrives. Have a ATOMOS SHONOBI now but doesn't control my camera. Must have feature.

I have an issue using this monitor with the komodo, the video signal goes in and out. I tried changing the sdi res output the hz and other things, new sdi cable even new batteries on the monitor and its the same thing. It works fine but after a few mins the signal starts to go in and out help!! Am I doing something wrong?

Hey, I just recently got this monitor for my Komodo, and it was able to connect all the settings of the camera. So I was able to change my iris, shutter, ect. But I wasn’t able to see the live view, all it shows is the Portkeys logo. Is there something that needs to be disabled from the Komodo or the Monitor? Or do I need to do a firmware update on the camera?

im not sure you can send traffic lights out via SDI. But no, not an option within the monitor itself

my portkeys bm5 had its sdi fail on me twice, gave up on it. Meanwhile my smallhd 702oled has been working like a tank for years.

The latest RED video says you are powering your monitor incorrectly. I do it as you do, but they want the connection with the camera and monitor already on which to me seems ludicrous.

Sorry if you explained this and I missed that part, but can you hook this Monitor to get a quicker and more efficient response? Seems the wireless causes some lag between commands.

Like the channel . Justin does the portkeys have lag when panning or is it on point . I dnt want delays .if so which is more precise without lag ? The black magic video assist or the portkeys ?

swipe left, tap the plus sign, choose zebras, then swipe up or try swipe left from the bottom part of the screen. You have to be in the settings page, and have the specific setting highlighted to bring up its own settings

Hey I just watched your video from last year about the Blackmagic Video Assist 12g, and forgive me, I haven't watched much of this one yet, but I need to get to bed and want to ask; do you now like this better than the Blackmagic one? (I have the Pocket 6k.) Both have nice metal construction I gather, and both can... like import the menu system of the Pocket 6k? Sorry, I need to do more homework on these monitors. I think you may have saved me from buying a cheapo monitor that I'd just be annoyed by (ANDYCINE C6), but now I need to narrow it down and pick one, ha. OK, I'll come back and watch the video later. I'm a total beginner hobbyist, but I still like quality gear that will last. EDIT: If you only had a Pocket 6K and had to keep it under $1,000 what monitor would you get? What about under $700? Sorry, maybe I should have just started with that haha. Thanks for the quality reviews brother. Can't wait to check out a few more tomorrow.

The Balckmagic 12G HDR video assist is on a higher tier than the PortKeys BM5. The Blackmagic is High Dynamic Range, 2500nits but also is a recorder. The PortKeys is not HDR and is only a monitor. Boils down to what you need. I have both. But the 12G HDR video assist is 7” and i have it for my 1st AC to pull focus from. and the portkeys is my onboard monitor. and when i hit record on the komodo im recording 6K R3D Raw internally, but also recording 1080 ProRes on the video assist for proxies.

@@JustinPhillip Oh thanks, I do appreciate that. The 12G HDR Video Assist is probably overkill for me, but if its only 50 dollars more, might go Blackmagic. (Smaller screen though. Wish these were all 6 inches.)

i believe that was an issue with the SDI elbow adapter i was using back then. Haven't seen it happen on the last couple shoots

this one and the little smallhd are the only ones rhat i know of that offer touch control. Keep in mind how small this camera is, a 7” monitor is quite large on top of this thing

@@JustinPhillip Yeah I thought about that but at age 44 my eyes aren't what they used to be lol plus the interface of the 7" Small Hd was a little nicer in my opinion. Im not sure if all that is worth double the price especially if touch focus isn't on the Indie 7. I guess ill just reorder the BM5wr again. First world problems lol.

I see that your SDI wire is connected to your camera while you connecting wirelessly. Do you have to have that on while you're doing the connecting process?

yes. you need sdi for video signal. the “wireless” is for wireless control

I clicked on link and ordered and one thing I notice is the back of my monitor says color 8+2frc max bright is 2200nit but max power=13 watts and on the back my antenna is top right hand unlike yours but I looked at other reviews and their models that control red have antenna on upper right corner yours is lower right corner . its bm5-wr I ordered from portkeys site just recently same one on their site now . it does not connect to wifi even with update thus far . id appreciate any feedback please thanks

@@JustinPhillip it connected all good and it runs beautiful . Touch screen works excellent, no lag, bright , build is solid , not a cheap looking image at all . Looks really good . All these different ppls videos on KZfaq helped with my choice on this one . Your videos help for sure from the sdi safety video to the wooden camera v mount built (I have the gold mount )with extension and many more videos I like alot . Thanks and Happy New years . everything is susceptible to opinions. The only thing this monitor is missing is the smallHD OS. Beyond that, its pretty dang nice, especially for the price! smallHD fanboys always seem to conveniently ignore the HORRIBLE quality control that smallHD has.
