The Big Chief Trail in Truckee, California is my new favorite sanctioned trail in the area. As we all know there is a lot of riding in the Tahoe area. I heard about this trail being build for quite some time and saw a few pictures of the progress as it came along. However after hearing it was open and what people thought about it, I couldn't wait to get up there. We liked this trail so much we came back two weeks later to ride it again. This was definitely up in the top three new trails I rode in 2019. If you are in the Truckee area this is definitely a don't miss ride. #mtb #mountainbiking #laketahoe

I watch a lot of your videos, and I always come back to this one. It’s one of my favorites, probably because that is where I do most my mountain biking. Just the way you narrated it and added the music when appropriate. So well done. Although, you have inspired me to tackle riding the entire Downiville from downtown based on your Downiville video. Another one of my favorite videos because you set yourself a challenge and conquered it Going to conquer that one in 2024.

OMG Robert!!!! BEST Video yet! A+ production. You have one of the best voice over and script I've ever heard. And I don't mean production wise, I mean your voice(Pixar would love your voice). Do not stop this style of format and you come across as a regular Joe biker that draws one in to this video. Truckee should be sponsoring you to promote MTBing and the different trailage. Your game here on YT just took a giant leap. WELL DONE!

I've a question Mr B1KER, if you don't mind? I'm a relatively large person [6 feet 2, 50" chest and 220 lbs]. For the last few years I've been riding [650b with + rims/tyres] hard tails exclusively, the last full squish I owned was a 2014 Specialized Enduro, back when 26" was still pretty typical. But now I'm hankering after a new bike that isn't a hard tail again. In your experience do specific types of suspension design [shock placement and linkages] work better than others for us larger gentlemen? I will be able to demo certain brands and models, but I'm trying to narrow it down a bit. Any kind of steer you can give me will be appreciated, I'm also a Robert/Bob as well!
@B1KER
@B1KER 4 жыл бұрын
I’m not super sure if one is better suited for big guys. I’m sure the marketing teams would all say theirs is best. My best advice is to try and demo some bikes. If possible go to something like Sedona MTB Fest and demo a bunch of bikes. You’ll learn quickly what you like. Personally, I really like Santa Cruz bikes. However I’ve rides a bunch of other brands that have been fun. I’ve also been in love with a bike online, but when I rode it was disappointed. At 6’2” 220 you aren’t so big that you’ll be pushing the boundaries of the suspension so I think you’ll be fine. If all else fails pick the one with the coolest paint job. 😂
@grizcuz
@grizcuz 4 жыл бұрын
@@B1KER Thanks. I'm in the UK but there's plenty of Santa Cruz stockists in my area. A work colleague owns a Bronson but he has the physical build of a teenage gymnast and it's only a medium, so there's zero point trying to gauge it from that. It did feel plush from the brief spin around the car park I had when he'd just bought it. Thought I'd better quickly give him it back when I noticed that he was wincing when I was bunny hopping it on and off the kerb.
@B1KER
@B1KER 4 жыл бұрын
grizcuz Hahahaha! I hear ya there. I really like my Bronson. The new v3 Bronson is super plush. It’s a great all around bike. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with a Bronson if you ride chunky enduro style stuff regularly.

@@B1KER kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rqllrdqJt8uafJc.html I live around this area, although I'm by no means thrashing the trails at the speeds in this clip. I am heading to Truckee next week! We are from So Cal, Going to ride this. We stay at Olympic Blvd. Any trails within riding distance from there?

If staying in that area I’d do Big Chief and probably some laps on Jackass and maybe a few shuttle laps on Tyrolean. I think you’d be stoked

@@B1KER Hell Yeah brother! I've watched your Big Chief and Sawtooth, both look RAD! Also going to raft the Truckee River a few times, float trip from the dam to River Ranch, Downtown Truckee stretch with our own rafts and Boca Run with an outfitter. Did that last year EPIC!

@@B1KER here is my 16 year old son running the class III just below the River Ranch on the Truckee last year in our Inflatable Kayak. We scouted first and he's had training. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hc2omtJmx7bZdXU.html
